Great BBQ, lean or fat choices! Located in River Oaks, off So 14th!!Dine in or take out with inside and outside seating available. Open until they run out of food! Get there early! They've CLOSED. Just have the Food Truck.Where are you now?

Food is great but I woulnt recommend working for this place! Although I had a fine employment and Matt was a great guy/boss. I have been reaching out for SIX MONTHS trying to get my W2 sent to me. Matt Procter never once responded to me and his wife did a few times before going silent 2 months ago. Stupid i have to get the IRS involved to take forever for money i worked hard to earn for my family!

Pretty dang good BBQ from a guys that's eaten at the more well known places around the country. I had the sausage, turkey and pork ribs. I recommend all three. Easily the juiciest piece of turkey I've ever had. The ribs fell off the bone, nice seasoning, flavorful but not overbearing spicy. Sausage was money. I have to go back.

Best BBQ in Texas! Mac Cheese to die for with brisket sprinkled in. Oh. My. Goodness! The ribs pulled pork, brisket, are incredible. Best in Texas for sure.

Great BBQ the meat was moist and fell apart amazingly plus the sauce is something different that's got a great flavor keep up the good work!

Not overly expensive for the quality and you get a chopped beef sandwich, it's huge. They have great condiments. I loved the sweet sliced pickles and jalapenos . Their barbeque sauce is excellent.

Meh. I was not impressed. The brisket had a good smoke ring, but wasn't seasoned enough and came out bland. I also thought it was little dry. The Mac n cheese was supposed to have brisket in it, but I didn't find any brisket; it was also incredibly dry! Just macaroni and some sprinkled cheese on top, no sauce of any kind. Speaking of sauce, the bbq sauces were both extremely sweet. Too sweet for me. The potato salad was straight out of the grocery store and totally average. I am sure it was not home made. Finally, the Mexican corn was very overcooked. Positive: jalapeño sausage was good and the service was excellent!

Something seems to have changed here...the Mac n cheese is completeely different, even smaller noodles, and not good. The meat was way off today, just all fat. For sure not lIke it was, and very expensive.

Shouts out to Dalton here he's the man, he treated my co workers and I like friends since the moment we walked in. This became a weekly stop for lunch because the brisket is unbeatable. The ribs, pulled pork and brisket Mac n cheese are all fantastic choices you can't go wrong with! That type of BBQ you show off to friends that are still eating from a chain BBQ restaurant. Keep up the good work boys, big fan of Stillwater and I'll definitely be a regular here. Best BBQ in Abilene!

Meh. I don't know if the Texas Monthly taster was swayed by the free beer, but it definitely wasn't "Top 50" worthy. Corn was good, green beans were good, but everyone hated the macaroni. Brisket was good, ribs were underdone. I know they're not supposed to fall off the bone, but these were not properly done. My daughter couldn't eat them because of her braces because they were too tough. If you order a chopped beef sandwich, be aware that it is VERY moist beef. Like, the scraps with all the fat. If you don't want all the fat, order sliced. Sausage was good. Tried to order beef ribs but they were sold out. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

I had no idea we were stepping into the home of one of Texas' 50 top pit masters! If I did, perhaps I would have thought before coming here that it'd mean the restaurant and the boss man himself would be a bit more uppity or gruff. And I would have been completely wrong. The simple backstory is, we're one a cross country drive. As we were on our way out of Texas, we realized we had not had Texas Barbecue yet! HOW DARE US! So we looked and found Stillwater wasn't too out of the way and boom, found ourselves in the parking lot of a charming shack-looking barbecue joint with a smoker hanging out back. When I was looking through the pictures here, I thought that free beer bucket was for a special occasion. And yet there it was, on an ordinary weekday (probably even quieter than usual because it was a few days into the new year). We were greeted by the brightest, happiest man I have ever met in my life. He asked us how hungry we were and told me he could do something for me: nachos. HOW DOES HE KNOW ME?!? (I effin' love nachos, btw). He said he'll throw it together with some brisket on top and...I cannot explain how giddy I was. The only doubt I was harboring was...My strange favorite meat order at a bbq place is sausages. I know it's something most bbqers wouldn't judge a bbq place on or even normally order, but I do. Not knowing how large the nachos he had in mind would be, I asked him if I should also get the sausage. He proudly told me well, that depends, do you want to try it? DO I! He cut a little piece for me, and it was definitely the best sausage I've had had in a bbq place (get your head out of the gutter). So I said yes, yes, an order of sausage too please. He said "how about this. I can also cut up the sausage for you to put in the nachos" #^%&$@!!!!!! YES PLEASE! And reader: look at that magnificent picture. It was glorious. Clearly I did not finish that in one lunch sitting. It made for a delicious dinner too. Also? Also? The absolute best Mac and Cheese I've ever had. Anywhere. Like most of us, I grew up on Kraft Mac n Cheese, and as my palate has matured, it sadly doesn't hit me like it used to. So I've been constantly on the hunt for this mythical mac and cheese that I was sure probably doesn't even exist. And yet here it is. It is the mature/gourmet/adult version of Kraft's and it is an absolute comfort hug. He said they make it fresh every hour and as we were about to leave, we saw them remaking it. Great, honest people here and it's reflected in the food. Come here!!
