Amazing food, HORRENDOUS tortillas.I'm sorry, but the tortilla is half the taco score in my book. Here in San Antonio we know a good tortilla. And Chela... you have let us all down. I mean just look at the picture I posted and tell me that tortilla doesn't look like garbage. Ps. That TV is highly annoying, can we turn it down? No? Okay. Great job.

The tortillas are not made on site and tasted store bought.Oat meal - very watered downBacon sausage egg taco - average at bestBean and cheese taco- very blandSpanish rice- so bland, the least flavorful rice that I’ve had in a long time.

I’ve only stopped for breakfast. The service is generally quick and friendly. Out of maybe a dozen stops I’ve had a couple of tacos made wrong. The food is made fresh but you might get a wrong ingredient of two in your tacos but nothing too scary or odd.Parking: They have a small free lot. As it’s on the corner it can be difficult to get out of sometimes.

Chela's likely happens to be one of the best least heard of Mexican restaurants in San Anton'. The location on St Mary's near the San Antonio Zoo is better known, but the one on Broadway is unfortunately all too easy to miss. Still, I recommend it for the quality food, and portions they don't skimp on; even their tacos are sizeable. The location on Broadway at least is in need of cozying up, but for now, the food and friendly staff will have to do.

I’m not sure what was happening this day. It was my first time coming in here and will be my last. I walked in, I did not get greeted. There was an older lady on the register. I sat down. Waited patiently to have someone come to my table. Mind you, I was the only one in there. Ten minutes later, I’m still sitting there. The lady at the register was so busy ringing something up on the register, looked at me a few times, but never once said anything to acknowledge my presence. I have never walked out of any restaurant- this is the first time. I just spent 10 minutes of my life being ignored in an empty restaurant that I can never get back. Absolutely poor customer service. I felt unwelcome and a bothersome. I became a regular customer at another closed location they have. I love the food and customer service. I found out about this once because my server shared the location with me. I thought I give this one a chance since I was in the area. Never again.Even as I was walking out, I was not acknowledged. I am sorry to bother you at lunch period at your empty location.

First timer here. I ordered the two tacos plate with the chicken cilantro tacos. It was delicious! Had plenty of flavor and the perfect amount. The rice and beans were okay, just a little bland. Overall, I would go back again and get the tacos.

First time here. Great location and free parking off Broadway. Yummy breakfast tacos. The rest of the menu looks good. They have a 2nd location by St. Mary's. Love the tables. The place was busy. Recommend.
