I love old buildings that have been given new life! This restaurant is out of the way and had great food. The burgers are mesquite smoked, and when we checked out the patio the woodsmoke smell was amazing! The first dining area was packed with families, and stepping down into the next dining felt like entering another restaurant. It had soft lighting and was quieter. So whichever mood you are in, there is a place for you. Loved the whole experience!

Before 2024.. maybe early 2023 or mid 2022 was rhe specific experiences that caused our company to scratch this place as a loss... Multiple visits and multiple disappointments. THE ONLY redeeming factor that takes this poorly managed rock to 1 star from zero.. is the guys that served our table. One of them wasnt even working and helped. They were brothers I believe Cade and Drew.. Other than that, over priced drinks, stressful owners, and anxiety in the air.
Always a pleasure to come here. The not-too-extensive menu really offers something for everyone. Dogs are welcome outside and the service is great, especially when Becky is there.

The menu was not quite what I expected. It's about half Mexican food There's no barbque, 1 steak, burgers, a few fried chicken meals, & chicken fried steak. The burger was ok, but the fries didnt have a bit of salt on them. I prefer them to be salted restaurant style since table salt doesn't stick to plated fries. Although the fries are fresh cut, & cooked well. I do love the feeling of the restaurant & the fire they burn in the winter.

Yesterday, we traveled to Albany to have lunch at the Icehouse and check out the boutiques. We had all been to the Icehouse before, so we expected good food! We had the special and it was wonderful, but what was more impressive were the two young people who waited the table. They were awesome! —and we picked up some good reading material there too. The boutiques were just as awesome! It was a nice little road trip! Abilene peeps: not a long trip for a nice little outing!

Nice restaurant reflecting home-style cooking. Food was good; only negative was the chicken fried steak was slightly tough (had not been tenderized). Service was adequate, but obviously understaffed due to the Fandangel event pulling many from the community as event volunteers. Still, would not hesitate to go.
