I can’t give any stars on the food if I had the option to not choose a star I would give none cause it took so long for our food to come out and we got asked if there was anything we could get you at one point more coffee refilled and we had already been waiting on our food and were told 15 more minutes for our food to come out. I see in the comments it’s good food but we never got our food we had a table 7 not even busy in there. The service was terrible for one table of seven we were given one menu and a waitresses when other people came to sit done they got everyone a menu. I know one of the waitresses had to take the blame from a couple for the service and everything, and I hear there have been manager changes a lot, but I don’t know the reason or excuse today for why the service was horrible today. Hopefully, you and your staff can work on this and get better and find better solutions. The service was ridiculous. I get that people don't want to work these days or are short-staffed.

My wife and I used to eat here regularly, we were in the area and decided to stop by. The food was bland and odd colored the coffee and tea was nearly water and the orange juice did not look right. The floors were sticky across the entire restaurant. The staff was depressing, no one had any kind I energy like what we had experienced before. We will definitely not be returning here again which is very disappointing because when we lived in Allen this was only of our favorite weekend stops.

They gave me burger meat in exchange for sausage with my eggs without asking me or letting me know there was no sausage and the hash brown was badly cooked and tasted like burnt oil. Very dissatisfied

Went for breakfast after church. Wasn't super busy so we were easily able to get a seat. Food was decent. Service was just ok. Not a bad place to take the family for a meal but there are better places around.

Wow where to begin. We walked in and already felt the vibes off. Not even a “hello” was received. I’m pretty understanding when it comes to being busy but it was absolutely not busy. Anywho, we decided to leave after waiting and the staff just constantly passed us. I’m glad we didn’t stay and took our money elsewhere. Do better. Management do better. OWNERS do better.

Wish I could accommodate this review with pictures but I decided to write it later in the day after reflecting on my visit.
Something has changed, whether ownership or management but this is not the same mom’s cafe.
I ordered the chicken fried steak, which used to be comically huge and just a great meal overall and I would add that oily pepper flake hot sauce they had and I would love it every time.
The new moms cafe had cut back on the menu and changed the items entirely, the new chicken fried steak size was comparable to the size of my palm and was actually one of the most disappointing meals I had had in my life. I should have sent it back but we waited about 30 minutes for our food (party of 2) and I was very hungry.
Wait staff was nice as usual but the atmosphere had definitely changed. There were about 3 other parties dining at the same time and you could tell people had decided to dine elsewhere.
Very unfortunate, moms cafe used to be an Allen special and now it has become victim to modernization, make the food quality as “acceptable ” as it can be while cutting cost. But in this case, “acceptable” simply means “edible”.

So sad - Used to be a favorite spot. Management change - menu dropped all the dishes that made Mom’s interesting and unique, food quality, service and options have nose dived. Canned salsa, hashbrowns are oily, soggy and under cooked. Understaffed 3 people in entire restaurant for a Saturday breakfast rush? I miss the old manager, staff, food, attitude and quality.

Took my family and friends to eat here this morning. The waiter Felipe D. was not attentive. He didn’t pay attention to detail. The orders came out under cooked to the point where the egg whites were slimy. We had to ask for multiple things in the couple of times we did get Felipe’s attention. Such ans silverware, creamer for the coffees, straws, etc. Over all the quality of the food and service was below satisfaction. I would warn not to eat here if I were you. Save your money from the over priced poor quality food.

I really hate to make a poor review, but after waiting 1hr and 40 m for our food to arrive unseasoned, cold, and drowning in oil, it seems unavoidable. The place is cute and the staff are friendly, but the service was poor and the kitchen incredibly slow. Maybe it was an off day?

new owners and chef. the c potatoes are now just regular season less potatoes and the eggs and bacon sandwich was actually terrible. i miss the old owners.
Ownership changed with completely new chef and wait staff.
Very unfortunate because I would come every other month for a reliable brunch.
The easy over eggs were burnt and bitter, the hasbrown crisp was hard to chew, the fruit was canned pineapple and peaches, and several of the best parts of the menu was cut.
No more cabbage hashbrowns, no more strawberry & chicken salad, no more daily specials, and no more fresh flowers on the tables either.
The previous owners and chefs were truly special, what a shame.
My server was very nice tho, she new to the restaurant as well but unfortunately the change in chef is too big of a fall from grace in my opinion.

Roaches or some kid or bugs in my food
I came here based off the reviews and I was really excited to try it. As soon as we walked in the lady just stared at us and didn’t say anything. I told her we had 4 and needed a highchair, she said they didn’t have any. I looked right in the hall and said “aren’t those high chairs?” We sat ourselves and when we walked up to the table there was a live cockroach on the floor, not a water bug either, the invasive cockroach, dirty establishment type. We immediately walked right out.

I think something happened in the last couple of months… change in management? The regular staff is gone, the service is extremely slow and the servers that they do have looked overworked and in a hurry. Coffee was never refilled, the Mexican coffee tasted… off, the food was still good.
