While staying in Alpine for 4 days to visit the Big Bend Area. My husband was most excited for Cow Dog. He had been reading reviews and reading the menu all week...however one thing we never looked closely at were the hours... they were closed the day we got to town, and the only other day we might have had a chance they closed at 3 and it's almost 2 hours from Big bend, so unfortunately this time around it wasn't meant to be. 3 stars for the hours...

We showed up just as they were closing and they said no worries grill is still hot took care of us and many more who showed up after us. The dogs and owners are awesome ! We will be back ? Thank you ❤️

What can you say about Alpines Awesome Cowdog truck. It's a main staple , amazing dogs and owners, love this place. now has outside covered seating , smaller menu with new owners but great variety still. So happy they are here.Thanks Cowdog ???❤️❤️❤️

Our trip to West Texas was blessed with beautiful vistas and stunning landscape, but the food fell short . . . until we ate at Cow Dog in Alpine, Texas. They substituted an Impossible Hot Dog, and it was grilled perfectly. The grilled bun and dog were topped w green chili, cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, a spicy sauce, and fritos. Such a delicious combo, my mouth couldn't believe it.The staff was friendly and service was pretty quick, considering the long line of customers. Cow Dog is a food trailer, and hours are "flexible." The food, however, is fantastic, and I'm already thinking about my next visit.

This was our reason for returning to Alpine over & over. What a marvelous, exciting & different experience!!!! I was soooo sad to see them closed on this trip. Please, someone with the same talent for good quality & & a desire to serve good food buy this place & keep up their good work!!! We miss you already!!

Delicious ! Had the "El Pastor" and the "Artisan". Truly good, and hit all the spots - juicy, warm, tasty, heartwarming. Plus the staff was so kind!! I'd definitely go if I were you.

Scrumptious, Allan and Kelly along with Simon do their best to make some of the most delicious hot dogs you've ever had. We love you guys! Oddball hours but if you call in you can skip the wait and get your food faster! They also serve Mexican cokes here and its just across the street from the Plaine Coffeeshop and laundromat. The perfect spot to eat some food while you wait for your clothes to dry up!
Tried to go here based on great reviews. Over an hour before close they had run out of all their vegetarian options. Ok, we said, can you recommend somewhere else in town to go? (This was before the recent move to Alpine). Reader, they refused to recommend a single spot! Awful. Where is the sense of community?? Thank goodness for Yelp; wound up at Alicia's for one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had!

We found Cow Dog at Marathon, but not at the main part of town near the Gage Hotel, but over by the Marathon Motel by the RV Park when you first come into town from Alpine's direction. He said he's there Thu, Fri, Sat 11:30-2:00 and Sat 5p to when ever. If not by the RV Park sometimes at events over by French Co. Great dogs and good people.

Cow Dog had excellent reviews when located in Alpine. Cow Dog is no longer in Alpine, TX. The recording on the phone says they moved to Marathon, TX. We drove to Marathon and possibly didn't look hard enough but didn't see Vow Dog there.

Excellent service the concept and food were great..We triec the German dog and the Frito chili dog. Tip: ask for extra kraut or chili.. taste was spot on but a tad dry..dont pass this place up!! Simple and yummy!
