To be fair, they were out of what I wanted, so I had to order something else. The food was ok, just not what I was hoping for. Service and atmosphere were good. They were busy, so that's usually a good sign as well.

Good food, but they were closed at 7:30 despite signage and this site saying 8:00. Why do Alpine businesses have such a hard time working posted hours? If you're gonna be closing, change your signs!

Man, I keep trying to give this place another shot, but I think last night was the last time. The chips and salsa were subpar. Chips were a little stale and the salsa was really liquidy. My son had the Mexican plate, which he liked, and we had the beef fajitas and a green chicken enchilada. I absolutely cannot stand their rice! It is very mushy and flavorless. It's not hard to make fluffy rice, so I really wish they would do better at this. The beef fajitas tasted as if the meat was boiled instead of grilled and the guacamole had sour cream in it. I've also had it with pepper in it here, and didn't like that either. I will say that they do have some of the best chicken quesadillas, and I highly recommend them.

Please note that the restaurant is cash only . I was not impressed with the food at all. The dip for chips was watered down and didn’t taste right. When the food came out I was more disappointed. The rice was mushy/ watered down I didn’t eat that. The beans were watered down and The Avocado looked like something out of a tube. I ordered the Asado plate and the chicken was the only thing that I could manage to eat off my plate and even that was heavily seasoned with Black Pepper. My husband who is not picky and would eat anything was disappointed he ordered a pork plate . We have traveled across the entire state of Texas and from Laredo Texas we have been eating mostly Mexican food and this has been the worst we have had and the most expensive as well. I don’t know who is giving this place a 5 star I definitely don’t think it is a 5 star . Take my word you will not like the food especially the rice and beans. I will recommend Maria’s Comida Mexicana food truck. The food is definitely better she even has a burger and fries on her menu .

Everything was great! My only gripe is they use canned soda. The floor in there is like a bouncy house.

The food and service while the atmosphere set the mood perfectly! It's no wonder that this business has been around for 49 years!

Order to go: soft tacos with rice and beans plate. I am not the least impressed with the quality of food served here. Beans had a strange flavor and rice tasted awful! Greasy rice 🤢
The meat in the tacos tasted okay. I didn’t finish the plate.

This restaurant has been open 49 yrs, and there is definitely a reason for that. Excellent service, excellent food, and excellent prices.
