My sister and I stopped in to eat. Service was very friendly. Portions were large and the food was excellent.
Great place to eat and very good atmosphere. We sat at the bar and had great service. Will eat here again.

Food was very good. Our waitress was a little chatty Cathy. She carried on full conversations with the locals. Took time to get refills and our check. Couple sitting next table over got up and left, took over an hour just to get his food, her food showed up and was wrong. He was still waiting on his second drink for over 20 minutes. I can’t blame them, O probably would have done so sooner. When they told the waitress they were done, she acted like it was no big deal. The restaurant was not super busy.

Taylor is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Food was top notch. My husband had the bison and I had the red fish. Asparagus was great too.

We recently spent several days in Alpine/Big Bend area with friends and ate at Spicewood one evening. We were in a hurry and our server was great in accommodating us with our meal, which was very good. Burgers, wedge salad and steak were all very good! Will definately head back to Spicewood Restaurant next time we are in Alpine.
The restaurant is great! Beautiful views, enough space between tables that you don’t feel like you can hardly hear the people you’re sitting with, and the food was delicious. Our waitress, Sabrina, was absolutely fabulous. I wasn’t feeling well and she was very careful about what to recommend that I order and even gave me a small taste of the soup to see if that would sit well with me. She was incredibly attentive, but not in anyway intrusive. If you go, see if Sabrina is around, she’s great. If we go back, I will certainly ask to sit in her section if she’s around. Thank you, Sabrina for making our lunch extra special!
Wheelchair accessibility: Front spots reserved - very nice.

Good food. Spacious room. Good bar. Associated with Parker Hotel. Met the General Manager of both and she goes the extra mile to make sure your experience is excellent.

Awesome waiter..Tim?
2 things (in my book) that make or break an establishment.
BREAK:
1. Slow service
2. Independent thinking of waitstaff/management
NEITHER of which did we find here!!!
MAKE:
1. Seems every person was moving, literally the whole time we were there.
There was a sense of togetherness among staff / manager. They all seemed to be helping one another deliver food, check water glasses, etc.
Really good interaction between waitstaff & the manager. She was not hang'n around in the back, rather, she was delivering meals. That puts her in the trenches & it's managers like that that help everyone stay on track & keep customers happy, in spite of a few minutes wait time at Saturday rush hour..?
2. Food was served in a timely manner & hot/cold depending on what you got. It was delicious as the waiter boasted. Good portions as well.
Ok, I know I said 2...shall we list a 3rd? Why not.
3. Waiter made a suggestion, (I like it when they know what they're talking about), regarding a seasonal Margherita (Pickled Margherita)
It was fantastic.
Hats off to all the staff, including the bar tender, that work so hard to bring enjoyment & relaxation for one evening to a rather hectic world.
Suggestions: Not all your food choices are listed below..can you update that somehow?
Appreciate you.

Highly recommended The Spicewood in Alpine. Their Cesar salad was one of the best I had in a long time and the green chile burger is amazing. If you get green chili Mac and cheese - ask for additional green chile on side - if you want to kick it up a notch. Our server (Sabrina)’s favorite item is the Redfish. It sounded good and I’ll have that next trip. Sabrina was nice and recommended the cucumber jalapeño margarita, which was on point. ???

We were there as a very large group and the service was spot-on! We had a wonderful young man who kept our water glasses full and checked in with us the right amount of times! The food was delivered hot and yummy! The atmosphere was great too!

I was craving a decent, healthy, well-rounded meal & found it at Spicewood Restaurant. Loved their poblano chicken & my husband, who's usually a slow eater, gobbled down his perfectly prepared chicken fried steak in no time. We split a slice of key lime cheesecake for dessert. It was lighter than regular cheesecake and delicious. Tim, our waiter, was great. Friendly, helpful, and attentive. We liked Spicewood so much we returned the next day for lunch! The only ding is the lack of ambiance in the main dining hall. Do go if you're looking for a tasty meal in Alpine. 5 stars for the food and service.

Apparent their business is booming so much that they’ll turn away customers. With an empty dining area we were told they could seat us in two hours. We’d been here before and it’s not worth that kind of wait.

Maybe if I was able to eat there I could give a better rating. We went in and this place is huge with tons of seating. The waitress asked if we had reservations. No we don’t. Her answer was that they were full and we’d not be able to eat there. She did the same to the couple behind us. It’s like they didn’t want anyone there. They had plenty of staff there to seat us.
