The tortillas are very delicious. I have been a customer of this place for 11 years, the best in the valley.

They have really good barbacoa. Love the yellow tortillas. I hit this place in the weekends and whenever I need fresh made corn tortillas. They do run out at times. All the staff here is really nice. When they have avocados get some. I don’t know who is sorting their avocados but they are always perfect. Thank you everyone that works there.

Parking: They have drive thru service. Most parking is on the west side. About 3 spots on the east side and 2 up front, south side, with a handicap slot available. Sometimes on week the line snakes to the side of the building.

My family and I have been going to Carmelita for years for its quality barbecue. I liked the barbecue and even recommended it to people to try it. I would tell you that the price is really worth the quality and taste of the product. We would rush to get there on time because the barbecue was so popular that they would sell out at 10 am on the weekends. The barbecue was all meat and little to no bait, which we didn't see much of because all the other places that sell barbecue are 25% meat and 75% fat or a variation of it with less than 50% meat. Last year the quality has been going down and the price has been going up exponentially, but I understand the increase in prices because we are all seeing the repercussions of the economy. The quality simply no longer fits the bill. Maybe it's the change in the person preparing it or the cook. Now barbecue comes with an excessive amount of fat and sinew, which doesn't seem worth the $17 per pound price tag!

We always get our barbacoa here and it never disappoints! It's lean and does not have too much fat. Love the drive through!

I don't know why they don't check that place well, I'll never shop there again. First time a piece of wire came out on the barbecue and second time a cockroach came out. I will never buy there again. What a disgusting place

I love the yellow corn tortillas, I always stock up when I go visit family in Alton. I once bought carnitas, and they were the best. Lots of meat, very little grease, good flavor.
