I’m giving this place 4 stars because there were a lot of things I loved, and just a couple of things I think could be better. But let me start from the beginning.
I went with a couple of friends after hearing people mention this place, and I’m glad we tried it. As soon as we walked in, the atmosphere felt super warm and inviting. The staff was genuinely friendly—not the usual “I have to smile for work” type of friendly, but the kind where you feel like they actually enjoy being there. Our server was really patient while we asked a ton of questions, and she explained different dishes without rushing us. Little things like that make a big difference.
The menu was honestly one of the first things that surprised me. There’s so much variety. Like, way more than I was expecting. They have all the classic Mexican dishes, but also a bunch of different taco styles, combination plates, appetizers, and even a few unique options you don’t see everywhere. It took me forever to choose because everything sounded good. I finally got the fajitas, and they came out sizzling and smelling amazing. My friends ordered enchiladas and tacos, and everyone loved their food.
One of my favorite parts? They actually have a happy hour on draft beer, steak options, and margaritas. So if you’re trying to save a little money while still enjoying good drinks, it’s definitely worth going during that time. I ordered a margarita, and it was the perfect mix strong enough to feel it but not too overpowering. One of my friends got a flavored one, and she wouldn’t stop talking about how good it was. The draft beer deals were also a nice surprise.
Now, the reason I didn’t go all the way up to 5 stars: the bathroom situation. There’s only one single-person restroom, which can get kind of inconvenient when the place gets busy. We had to wait a bit, and it felt like everyone else did too. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it definitely stands out. Plus, the restroom itself could use an update. It wasn’t dirty or anything, just a little outdated compared to the rest of the restaurant’s vibe. Even some small renovations or adding another restroom would make a big difference.
Besides that, the place was clean, cozy, and had a really nice atmosphere. The food portions were generous, the drinks were great, and the workers were honestly some of the nicest I’ve met in a restaurant in a while. I’d definitely go back again, especially during happy hour, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for good Mexican food in Alvin that isn’t overpriced or too fancy.
So yeah 4 stars, and I’ll definitely be returning!

I ordered the burrito, she said do you want rice and beans in the side, it's extra. Silly me, every burrito I have ever had has come with. So I said no. Basically they served an over priced enchilada as a burrito.

Went here to eat with very high hopes and was sadly very disappointed. Everything from the queso to the the steak was just bland. Not even salt was enough to really help. The tortillas in my cheese enchiladas were soggy and falling apart and honestly thought they forgot the cheese. The queso was bland like nacho sauce you get at a concession stand. My husbands steak dish was also just not very flavorful. Everything looked really good but the flavor was just...lacking to say it nicely. Someone else compared it to a tv dinner and I have to agree. We love supporting Alvin businesses but unfortunately won't be back because it just wasnt that good. Really hoping they can figure it out.

Took our drink order but then took a long while to come back for our food order. Food was alright. Maybe I just chose the wrong dish. I had beef enchiladas felt like a tv dinner. Mimosas were good. Queso was great. My friend said the Soup was good.

Have been hearing this is a great place for Mexican food and it is! Although the fajitas smelled delicious, I went with the Original Puente. It was delicious and I have some leftover for later! The hostesses were so beautiful and welcoming. Enjoy!
