What is not to like, DELICIOUS beef, the green chili cream corn is incredibly tasty. The alcohol drinks aren't anything special but WHO CARES, everything else is perfect. I do prefer the coconut cake over the chocolate but that's me, not a fan of Hershey syrup, if you ask them they will give you grated horseradish which I like better than the horseradish cream sauce. The bread is very special. So soft so warm so Nom worthy. Been here twice and loved both times, will always stop and eat here when passing through. AND THE MOTEL IS FANTASTIC, CLEAN AFFORDABLE AND VERY PET FRIENDLY. In an age where MOST places don't welcome pets this place does for a small agreeable amount. THANK YOU ALL, especially Hanna who helped us check in today.

So awesome, stayed at the hotel and came here, what a comfortable cool place to wind up. Steak was a notch above chain steakhouse, I will never, ever drive by the Big Texan Steak Ranch without stopping. Service was great and overall just a really cool, interesting experience.

It's an interesting tourist trap location. The food was nothing special. We got fried pickles that were fried spears that retained too much scalding hot pickle juice. I had a ribeye steak which was about half fat.

We stopped at The Big Texan during a cross country road trip as we passed through Texas. This place was really fun, the big steakhouse boasts a gift shop, brewery, desserts counter, and games in addition to the restaurant. We enjoyed browsing the gift shop and exploring the place while waiting for a table. Once seated our waitress was extremely friendly and offered suggestions. My brother and I both ordered a beer flight, I loved getting to try a few of the different beers they brew instead of having to choose just one. The fried pickle spears were good. My brother ordered a steak while I got the ribs. He enjoyed his steak but my ribs were dry and I only ended up eating a couple because they just weren't good. The sides however were great, I got the sweet potato and the Mac and cheese. We especially loved the two gentlemen that came around singing to each table, made the dining experience unique.

This is our third visit. Today, it just wasn't as good as I remembered. I had to send my steak back because it was too rare and very tough. Note: my "fixed" potato on the same plate. They cooked a new steak, but my original potato was missing. I had it fixed perfectly. They did gave me a new potato.

Despite its touristy appearance, this steakhouse turned out to be a pleasant surprise on our road trip. The sheer size and the attached gift shop may give off tourist trap vibes, but the meals were surprisingly delicious. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and the dessert cakes were a highlight - simply amazing. It's an ideal stop for satisfying your appetite during a road trip, offering more than just a meal but a memorable dining experience.

Had the opportunity to make my way out to Amarillo and stopped at the big Texan for dinner. Place is huge, 2 story gaming area, separate bar and gift shop. Very old country western. My group was seated in the main dining room, and I got right business scanning the menu. I choose the man v food meal. An 18 ounce sirloin with a fried shrimp, baked potato, and a salad. Food arrived in about 20 minutes. I ordered my steak medium and that how it arrived. A nice dark pink in the middle. The steak was succulent and juicy. I couldn't finish it all tho. Great place to bring the family. Atmosphere is fun and inviting.

After years of passing by on road trips, it was either too late or too early, we finally timed it right for lunch. There is a reason why Big Texan has been around for over 60 years, the food and service is fantastic. We had the brisket and rib lunch. Includes 2 sides and rolls. The meat just fell off the bone. So delicious. Our waiter was so attentive and professional. The kitsch is truly Americana. Kids will love it and for adults it harkens back to when roadside attractions were something to look forward too.

Drove straight from the airport to the Big Texan Steak Ranch. Not our first rodeo, and wanted to have a casual late lunch upon arrival. I had grilled salmon with cowboy beans and green chile creamed corn side dishes. Our server was very animated, friendly and attentive. Enjoy the kitschy vibe and the food was cooked on point.

Tried to keep it simple. Ordered 2 salads and two ribeyes. Only had one fork on the table, asked for more, got one more fork. One salad showed, waited 15 min, and finally started to eat it. The first fork full brought up some lettuce and a piece of paper with writing on it. That was the final straw. After waiting for 1/2 hr to get served, only getting one salad, then the paper, we started to leave. The mgr came over and asked what's the problem. We detailed everything, and he said, sorry. Any competent mgr, would have reseated us, got a waiter who could speak the King's English and comped our meal because of the paper. But, he just said sorry and watched us leave. Been here many times, but no more.

A fun attraction and decent stop off for a steak dinner in Amarillo right off of I-40 West. The food was good, basic meat and potato Texas style. The bbq combo hit the spot for a much needed dinner after a long 700 mile drive. My buddy enjoyed his porter house. They load you up with food. A tourist attraction that wash packed when we arrived with diners and looky loos. There is a cool game room and bar area with photo op opportunities and fun for kids. Our server Pearla was awesome and on point. Being very familiar with the service industry I have to say she knew her stuff and nailed it. Great personality! Good service IS the experience. Grabby out if in Amarillo.

I wanted to like it. I had chicken fried steak. It was an overcooked piece of compressed meat. Not sure if potatoes were real. Husband had ribs. Tasted boiled and then grilled. What is wrong with America's restaurants? Are we tired and jaded? Do we no longer recognize good food? Salad was ok. Good ranch dressing. Water in plastic cup. Friendly, pleasant semi absent staff.

Always a fun place to eat. I had the Duke, rare and it was delicious, to accompany it, I had a loaded baked potato and a side salad followed by a piece of Lemon cake. While waiting and eating I watched these you gentleman try to choke down the 72oz special, sadly they failed and had a huge doggy back to take home. Ambiance is deep western, decorated with all types of animal mounts from Turkey, Elk, Deer, pig, to who knows what else.

Like so many said before me, at least check it out. It's big and it's fun. I give it a 3 because of the ambiance. We were also lucky to see someone trying to eat the 72 oz steak. We left before he was done and I don't think he was going to finish the steak/meal. Our server was very good. She was attentive and efficient. She suggested items and explained things. Food is just average. However I will say the have one of the best ranch dressings I have ever had and the salad was very fresh. The rest of the meal was just ok. I felt it all needed some more seasoning.

Lotsa fun as we met our grand-daughter who is a senior at West Texas A&M. Appetizers and drinks were good and rolls were great!!! Steaks had a great flavor but were a bit over cooked for medium rare. But as we had just driven for 12 hours with a 1YO with our daughter and SNL it wasn't worth the hassle of returning them. Glad we marked this off our bucket list. On to Taos for skiing and snowmobiling.
