Black Bear Diner Amarillo

The sever was the best in the business. The food came out quickly even after the restaurant was full with large tables( 20+). Food was amazing as always and my mother said it was the best chicken fried stake she had in years. Of course we took away a to go box.

Not worth your time or hard working money
They had the audacity to bring us burnt food to our table.
Its bad enough it took 40 + minutes to bring us some food that wasn't hot.
The waitress was ok
But everything else sucked
Many places to eat in Amarillo...don't stop here!

We got seated pretty quick. Our waitress was ok I guess
There were a few people that came after us. They were served and left before we got our food.
They bring us lukewarm food
They had the audacity to bring us burnt bacon, sausage and refried beans..
I was floored.
Go elsewhere...

We had 9 in our party so we had a variety of orders from the menu. Not one person thought the food was good. It was actually the worst food I’ve had in a long time. Service was horrible and no one could get refills on drinks. Black bear diner we will never stop at another!

It sucks to have to give such a low rating for this restaurant because the service was great, everyone we encountered here was friendly and positive, but thefood was just terrible. My boyfriend got pancakes, which were undercooked a little, I ordered the french toast to be cooked extra time and from the outside, they looked delicious, cooked extra crispy or dark, but they were practically raw batter in the center. Terrible. Not even the plate of fruit was edible, it looked a day or 2 past its expiration date. We left full, uneaten plates of food on the table & walked away. But our waitress was just the sweetest thing you've ever met so we still tipped her $20 because its not her fault the food was gross.

Had lunch and breakfast the next day, the price is very competitive. Had a denver omelet for breakfast, probably not going to eat for the rest of the day 😅

Would not sub the cornbread muffin for toast on Bigfoot chicken fried steak. Chili came to table cold, cheese congealed and stop putting raw red onion on it. It came like 2 seconds before our meals!
Did not get hashbrowns but some greasy potatoe cubes on again raw red onion. Was greasy. Chicken fried steak meal was obviously frozen, nothing special like they wow about.

Showed up on a Tuesday (9/2) and was greeted by a smiling waitress (Destiny) with a good attitude, which was much needed after a long day of driving. She promptly got me my drink and took my order. I ordered a cup of chili and a taco salad. Little did I know, I had just ordered the best taco salad I’d ever eaten. Not to throw shade on the chili, which was great too, but something about this taco salad hit the spot. Could’ve been the generous amount of meat or the spicy jalapeños. Perhaps the thinly cut avocados. They didn’t ruin the salad with iceberg either. I don’t normally write reviews, but had to about this place. I will make a point to get back here often.

Do not come to this location, they do not have enough staff, it is very slow and they do not care about how long it takes you to get your food. I waited over an hour just for them to come out and tell me they did not have what I ordered. The waitress was very rude as well. This isn't the first time this has happened, I gave them another try but this time was worse. I will never return to this location, contemplating on going to any black bear restaurants in the future.

Always love Black Bear but this one was better than usual! My server Natasha did a great job making sure my experience from food to service went great! Hot food, cold water. Couldn’t ask for more!

Took 40 minutes to get a to go order. They sold part of my order and when I went to get a refund they charged me again. I still don't have my refund nor do I have the product they sold. Manager did not apologize but she apologized to other customers for me wanting my money back. Then has the audacity to tell me if its not back tomorrow to call. So I'm out nearly 20 dollars and they seem like they're put out. Rudest manager I've had to encounter who did not know how to do her job. She had yo call someone AFTER she double charged me! If you cannot do your job then don't do it. Don't apologize for me being angry when its your stupidity that made me angry. Laughing at me with another customer is unprofessional. To top it off, they still messed up my order!
