Blindly stopped here. Place looks nice on the outside, looks like a dump/small town cafe on the inside. Decorated with Trump signs that I didn’t see until after I ordered or I wouldn’t have eaten here at all. One sign said “100% American workers” which is fine I guess, but their values really reflect in their food. Perhaps a more diverse crew would provide more palatable food. The food was so bland and the wine was disgusting. The entire atmosphere, plating, and taste of the food gives retirement home.

I absolutely LOVE Cafe Marizon not only because of the food but the amazing & personable staff. They are the real reason my family & friends come here. I would give them 1 million stars if I could. This will forever be one of my favorite places to eat ❤️

I like this place, the food is presented well and tastes good, the place is clean, prices are fair. The dining room is decorated in interesting photos and items from the Amarillo area. BUT, I have to give this review hoping the owner will hear me and think on a solution to the noisy acoustics of the place. I imagine the owner has normalized this and has no idea of how it is for the customers. The floor is hard ceramic, the tables and chairs are bare wood, the ceiling appears to be a modern version of the retro decorative stamped panels. Walls are drywall, windows are large with plate glass. All of this creates an acoustic nightmare, especially for anyone over 50 years old who doesn't have 20 year old hearing any more. We go to visit or meet friends or family and want to have a normal conversation, not have to yell over the other patrons who are also yelling to hear each other. There are modern innovative solutions to solve acoustic problems like I'm describing. As simple as rugs, chair padding, or some drapes or fabrics would help. Or commercial sound deadeners placed discretely along the walls or corners of the ceiling. I like this place but have to avoid it too, because it's a miserable experience.

I went to Marion Cafe to have lunch with my Wife and had a bizarre experience. The waitress seated us and cleaned off a table for us. A few minutes later, the manager came over and told us we needed to move tables and share another table with another group. When we politely said no, he told us they weren’t going to serve us because the other people were “here first.” They were waiting for the rest of their party to show up. I told him that if that was the case, the waitress should not have seated us to begin with. If you want to be treated like an inconvenience instead of a customer this is the place for you. It seemed like the manager or owner may be inexperienced in running the business.

Hands down the best service! Nowadays you really don't get that. Today is my birthday! So I wanted to try something new. See me and my family don't get a chance to go out to eat much so it was a treat. I ordered the hamburger steak and man that was good and Hott! Thank you for the best day

Stopped in Amarillo for lunch. Y'all....this food was sooooo good! One of my favorite things is trying local restaurants when we travel.
This place has been in business for 28 years. Laura was our waitress and was lovely. We enjoyed talking with Scott and he was kind and gave us an order form for pies and bread. Homemade yeast rolls that were beyond delicious. I had the chicken fried steak (no, I didn't finish it) and my husband had the breaded pork chops (he finished the pork chops but not the mashed potatoes). Also...those potatoes and gravy from scratch. Taters, precious!!
Looking for excuses to drive this way again.

Café Marizon, what a great find for us, first time here and the experience went beyond expectations, food is very tasty and portions are just right (not too big and definately not small), the dessert (coconut pie) is really good. Our waiter Laura is very attentive and gets you taken care of for sure. Building is very clean and well kept, please give this place a try.
Perfect meal, great price matched great service
This is an interesting local restaurant. I can tell they make their own food. You won't get a prepacked meal here. They even make their bread fresh. The decor is the history of Amarillo. I knew about some of the old department stores, but not all.
If you are looking for a local restaurant that makes their own food instead of a chain that prepacked their food, this is your place.
