We stopped in on our way to a playoff volleyball game. We were greeted immediately and waited on. They asked where we were from and were very personable with us. Every worker we encountered was very friendly. I had the hamburger steak with cabbage and greens and twice baked potato casserole. My husband had the blackened catfish and shrimp with the same sides. Both dishes were AMAZING! We decided to try pecan pie but they ended up being out of it. A man came out and told us they were out of the pie but had several others to choose from. He also said they would have pecan tomorrow and if we came by pecan pie was on him. We went with German Chocolate cake and oh goodness was it good! We both feel like this might be our new favorite place! If you havent tried it yet, run don't walk ! It's that good!!

Great people and great food. Go on Thursday for oxtail. The blackened catfish is great also. I wish I could get the bisque in a bowl as a soup!

Homemade food made with much love! Delicious!

Im originally from NC, so we take BBQ and catfish pretty seriously. I had the best blackened catfish I've ever had in my life, and the brisket also was top 3 I've ever had. Delvin and his staff were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. He even gifted us a container of his blackened seasoning and imparted some cooking wisdom upon as as a parting gift. I can't wait to come back, almost makes me wish I lived in Texas!

Not the best bbq in Amarillo, sadly. My wife and I came in yesterday evening and of course growing up I know food would be out. Before we even could look at anything the family member listed everything that was out. We mainly wanted brisket and turkey on our journey. We asked if everything will be in the next day. The member said yes and we came back the following day. We were the first ones in just by circumstance. I ordered the brisket and turkey for my wife. They said the turkey will take 15 minutes and just to wait which is fine. I waited, waited. Got up and went to ask what was going on 45 minutes in. Then a family member said it’ll be another 20 minutes at least. I said if I could double brisket instead of. They tried to convince me with chicken instead and I said no. They offered a dessert but my wife has an allergy to nuts so declined. Went in the parking lot to eat. The cabbage and green side should have just been called cabbage with a green. My fish was done sitting for 20 minutes during this. They offered others dipping sauces, did not to me. They were upset I was upset and was talking smack with me right there. My wife’s brisket was dry. Go to other locally owned businesses nearby. The quality and service is higher elsewhere.

We had lunch today and it was decent but I expected more flavor in the dishes we chose and was dissatisfied with the potato casserole. It was mashed potatoes with a few chunks of cheese and some chives. The ribs were fatty and the smoke flavor was lacking in the brisket. Again it was decent but I expected more.

This place is amazing. The food was so good and the service outstanding. I had never heard of this place until today but you can bet I will be back. I had the blackened catfish with shrimp and sweet potato casserole. I highly recommend it. Go try them out, it’s home cooking at its finest!
