We stopped in on our way to a playoff volleyball game. We were greeted immediately and waited on. They asked where we were from and were very personable with us. Every worker we encountered was very friendly. I had the hamburger steak with cabbage and greens and twice baked potato casserole. My husband had the blackened catfish and shrimp with the same sides. Im originally from NC, so we take BBQ and catfish pretty seriously. I had the best blackened catfish I've ever had in my life, and the brisket also was top 3 I've ever had. Delvin and his staff were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. He even gifted us a container of his blackened seasoning and imparted some cooking wisdom upon as as a parting gift. I can't wait to come back, almost makes me wish I lived in Texas!
We had lunch today and it was decent but I expected more flavor in the dishes we chose and was dissatisfied with the potato casserole. It was mashed potatoes with a few chunks of cheese and some chives. The ribs were fatty and the smoke flavor was lacking in the brisket. Again it was decent but I expected more.
