Great pasta (both the chicken artichoke and the garlic/mushroom cream sauce) and excellent service. Describing Embers as a "quiet dining experience" would be an understatement. At times, I was worried I was breathing too loudly and disturbing the other diners. I also noticed that Embers seemed to attract an older crowd, which probably contributed to the quiet environment. These certainly aren't negative characteristics, but you might want to steer clear of Embers if you prefer more lively eateries.

I always thought a good piece of meat was like an artist's canvas to use to make something great. But when you just take a piece of meat throw it on the grill cook it and serve without any herbs or spices all you have is a cooked piece of meat. You don't need to go to a upscale high price place to get something you can do at home

Service and food were excellent. Atmosphere is very old fashioned. Expensive but well worth it. We had seafood rather than steak. The kitchen does some great things with compound butter and the wait staff is very attentive without being annoying.

If you want a great steak in Amarillo - go to Embers. These folks can cook a steak to perfection and offer a very respectable selection of seafood. The bread is fresh and warm. I didn't really know how much I liked salads until I tried a few if theirs - the cranberry walnut and the BLTM are my favorites. The staff enjoy their jobs and want to ensure that your eating experience is phenomenal. Dinner and service is the reason you go to Embers - the dessert is that added reason to come back. The serving sizes for the deserts are ridiculously large - the carrots cake is my favorite followed closely by the chocolate.....

Amber Steakhouse is great A love going there it's a quiet atmosphere at times it could be noisy when they have a large party but other than that love going there for the quiet atmosphere and the great food and wine

Very nice wait staff, drinks were good and all the sides were good, however, my boyfriend and I both ordered a ribeye med well done, mine came out just over medium and his came out medium rare, he sent his back 2 times before it was right. I chose to keep mine because I did not want well done and dry. So we eat separately. You would think if they are going to charge 27.00 on a steak their cooks would know the difference between med well and med rare. Not a great date night dinner when we ate separately.

The appetizers and cocktails were great. But the service was not what we expected. We had 3 different servers that took our drink orders 4 times before we actually got them. The steaks and the scallops were slightly bland.
