Great pasta (both the chicken artichoke and the garlic/mushroom cream sauce) and excellent service. Describing Embers as a "quiet dining experience" would be an understatement. At times, I was worried I was breathing too loudly and disturbing the other diners. I also noticed that Embers seemed to attract an older crowd, which probably contributed to the quiet environment. These certainly aren't negative characteristics, but you might want to steer clear of Embers...
I always thought a good piece of meat was like an artist's canvas to use to make something great. But when you just take a piece of meat throw it on the grill cook it and serve without any herbs or spices all you have is a cooked piece of meat. You don't need to go to a upscale high price place to get something you can do at home
Service and food were excellent. Atmosphere is very old fashioned. Expensive but well worth it. We had seafood rather than steak. The kitchen does some great things with compound butter and the wait staff is very attentive without being annoying.
