I will miss Esquire. Every time I come to Amarillo I always make a point to visit Esquire at least once before I leave. My heart broke when I heard this place will be closing in 2020. I do hope a miracle happens to keep this place open for all the memories I've enjoyed here. Esquire Jazz Club is a jazzy hip bar located in downtown Amarillo in the Polk Street entertainment district. It's a dark yet classy atmosphere that is rare in a West Texas city like Amarillo. The prices are reasonable and the entertainment is one-of-kind. The music is always live. Staff is friendly and drink selection is solid. Great selection of cognacs and scotches here. I even spotted a Weller bottle that is very hard to find even in liquor stores ($27 a pour). This was one of my favorite hidden gems of the city where you can always impress who you bring along. 5/5. Do hope the owners change their minds and decide to keep Esquire open for many more years to come.

Ambiance and the musicians were great. Service was terrible. We waited 10+ minutes with empty glasses on more than one occasion, and was even served the wrong drinks twice. People and tables that seemed associated with the owner were given adequate attention while everyone else waited with empty drinks. This was our first, and honestly probably our last, experience at Esquire.

The ambiance of Esquire is great, and the musicians were excellent. The wait staff and service on the other hand was less than par. We came to Esquire for a date night and constantly had empty drink glasses, and waited more than 10+ minutes per drink. The wrong drinks were served on more than one occasion throughout the night. It seemed that those who knew the owner of the facility were gaining the attention of staff more so than other patrons. We enjoyed ourselves but overall disappointing.

Amazing what they have done with the Woolworth Building, this place is amazing, great live music, friendly staff, and the selection of wines, has to be the best in Amarillo, we tried the appetizers, the presentation was unique, and fresh and tasty. Great place for Amarillo. The owners did it right, and very comfortable.
