The food was really good, the portions were big, good price and the interior decor was personalized history. Loved the set-up for ordering and how fast your food was ready. The seating is cozy, but not intended for large groups.

Have loved Grandmas for years. When they opened the location on VFW was great now even closer to home for my fix.

I just drove 14 hours straight from Kentucky to Texas.
All I could think about for the last 14 hours was the buttery, savory, light, fluffy tortillas gently hugging the lightly fried chile relleno with the creamy melted cheese inside the chile...
My first stop in Amarillo was Grandma's as I sat patiently in the parking lot waiting for Grandma's to open at 7am.
To my surprise, they opened the doors early at 6:57am and I was greeted with the smell of freshly made salsa, tortilla chips, tortillas, and breakfast foods. The cherry on top, ice cold Mexican Coca-Cola made with real sugar and not the cheap inferior corn sryup Coca-Cola.
I told the staff the tale of my 14 hour journey and quest for the best chile relleno burrito in the Texas Panhandle as I am describing above.
I may have moved away from Texas, but Grandma's Burrito's will always be the number one burrito joint in my heart and always be my number one stop when I travel back to my roots here in Tejas.

Got myself and son burritos and it came with chips and salsa!
The food is always great here. I love the salsa bar but I wish they offered two cups per burrito. I guess if you eat there you can try all the different salsas. Butt it's a very impressive salsa bar.
I am very disappointed. The asada burrito I ordered tasted like it had been sitting since 6 am ;( I went at 1 pm, just am disappointed bc it was dry and no flavor ;( I enjoy the western location alot more.
Called in an order at 2:30 (they close at 3). Got there at 2:40. They made me feel as though I was there after they closed. Got charged for ingredients that I did not receive. Should not start closing the store before 3. Everything was put away even though they still had another 20 min before closing.
I love grandmas but their hours kiiiinda suck… so many times I’ve been craving it but they’re closed. Food is great though and usually get very nice service!
