The food was good. They had steamed gyoza which is nice from the usual fried. The ramen was good but I'm still looking for the true clear broth ramen vs the yellow I get here in Amarillo. I guess they take the city literally.

Sumo was a great experience. The new owners have definitely made positive improvements. The food was noticeably better tasting than similar establishments. I highly recommend trying this place. Sushi was top notch. The rice was remarkable. Service was excellent.

A family favorite! My kids LOVE the orange chicken, and have used the word "glorious" to describe it.The spider roll is very good, highly recommend.
Walked in at 8:09. Noticed 9 tables with empty / half eaten plates and napkins with food remaining that hadn't been cleaned up yet. Didn't get food until 8:49. I ordered Pork Tonkatsu Ramen and Curry. Curry was cold and my Ramen noodles were overcooked to the point they were a solid mass in the bowl, the egg was way overcooked with a green line surrounding the yolk, the pork meat was very low quality and slimy. Entire meal was extremely underwhelming yet memorably bad. Service was extremely slow and restaurant is understaffed- to which I can't fault our server as it was her 2nd day and she did a great job given the circumstances. As we left the tables still hadn't been cleared / cleaned. The restaurant also held a very odd aroma, similar to that of an open dish washer. Overall very unprofessional and bad experience, would not recommend at all!

Went to SUMO Japanese Steakhouse Amarillo tonight! The Valentine’s Day special was great & worth the price. We got the crunchy, Philly & Salmon rolls and two entrees of steak fried rice(one was cauliflower, which was great)They were the nice enoughh to let us sub the cauliflower out.Our favorite roll was the crunchy, the soup was dang good tonight. Had a little bit of spice and just right.We ended the night with original cheesecake and banana pudding cheesecake, goodness the banana one. ?

That tonkatsu ramen is super great with some chile oil and some siracha for spice? MM! and my fiancé got the chicken yakisoba and she loved it. And the sushi is good too. Oh man compliments to the chef. We took our time to eat it but that’s because we didn’t want the food to end and we wanted to savor it as much as we can cause it was SO GOOD. Thanks y’all for the great food you serve us.

Pretty good tradition Japanese steakhouse food, but the Spicy Tonkatsu noodles set it apart. Better than Fun in my opinion and among the best in Ama.

Awesome place for some ramen here in Amarillo! The broth was full of flavor and about a 15 min wait for food. Our waiter was all by himself and did awesome! Super kind and as fast as he could be! My husband had the Kung pao chicken. He loved it but wished it had more of a sauce.

Good sushi spot for lunch. Never tried them before. Had the Spicy Tuna roll and Spicy Chicken roll. Service was quick, portion was good, and the sushi was well made. Price was also perfect. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu.
