We went here on a recommendation, and we were not disappointed, other than we wish we had gone sooner. The food was great, the prices were reasonable, and the service and atmosphere were great too. I think we avoided it initially, because the building looks like an old Pizza Hut. Ha! We'll definitely be going there again.

I have tried this location for a drive-through and for sitting in sitting in is OK, but the drive-through is easy. The food it lacks a lot of attention. It is not tasty. It is not really authentic Mexican very minimal attention to the food.

Well let just dive right in, environment was good not busy like I thought durning lunch time which is a plus but when I got seated I got acknowledged by my waiter and told I would like Dr Pepper, saw her going back and forth without my drink, had to ask another waiter. Customer service was plain. No joy of working nor did she even check on our drinks or asked if we needed anything. Besides that the chips were good but the salsa was tomato-ish….wasn’t to my liking but the queso was great. My dish was a torta, I couldn’t finish it. Something in it tasted off. I wouldn’t come back here at all. Just my opinion and experience.

Amarillo by morning? Eat amazing breakfast tacos here! Roll in and need dinner - authentic, delicious Tex Mex!Sauces were yummy and fresh... chips were crisp .... margarita was so good!Locals....y'all should swarm this place!

I've been here a few times over the years, and if it was closer to my side of town I'd go a lot more often. Typically I've gotten Sunday breakfast here. Everything I've ever tried has been hella good, but I really recommend the menudo and the breakfast burritos. Both are priced super reasonable. The staff is always helpful and friendly, too. Taqueria El Tapatio stays on my recommended list for friends and family.Parking: Parking can get pretty tight when they're busy, so carpool at those times. They also have a drive thru for takeout.
