Asked if they cooked any of the chicken with peanut oil for my brother's nut allergy. They "didn't know if they use that" (verbatim) after going back to ask the kitchen. Unacceptable of a restaurant to not even know what they're cooking with. Ridiculous.
We had some really good sesame chicken and sweet n sour chicken. The rice, however, left a lot to be desired. The steamed rice was okay, but the fried rice looked more like brown rice. No veggies, no egg, nothing but brown rice. I assume the brown was from dirty oil, since fried rice is usually more of a yellow color. We called to ask about their chicken (from the sweet n sour chicken) being cooked in peanut oil, because my son wanted to try it, but is allergic to peanuts. They went and asked the kitchen staff and came back with "we don't know what oil it is". That is extremely concerning, both for allergies and also because the kitchen staff doesn't know what they are cooking with! What?! Is there no container they could look at? Is this recycled oil from day before; who knows? That was the worry-some part. Learn your menu Thai Arawan, and ingredients; some have allergies/dietary restrictions.
Dietary restrictions: They don't know what they are cooking with. Unsure about peanut oil for the fried food. If they were food certified, I would think they would make this a priority. Someone should make sure the cooks are certified to serve and cook food, especially for those with food allergies.
