In Anahuac your choices are very limited. Anywhere else one may shy away from this place. A little rough is kind of an understatement. The food was ok and the people are nice. When I visited, the natural gas or propane smell in the building was “explosive” to say the least.
I stopped at this spot to meet a friend between cities. They have plenty of seating and a quiet atmosphere. I had the carnitas and my partner had the tamales. Both were delicious. We both live about an hour away but will def be coming back.
My parents and I stopped here for lunch after Mom had a second hair cut within a two week period. Luckily, she loved this haircut!
Nopalitos has been a staple of good, tasty Mexican food in Anahuac, Texas for years! I've always enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the personal service.
A restaurant in anahuac TX that serves pretty good Mexican food. Service is great and has a local, layed back atmosphere to just relax. Prices are about the same as you would find at other Mexican restaurants. Stop by when you're in the area.

We were not greeted upon entry. After standing around we grabbed our menus off of the counter and sat ourselves. The chips and salsa came first. The salsa was not to be desired. We ordered queso cheese dip and it was tasted similar to a packaged pasta cheese sauce. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla. My son ordered beef tacos. My husband ordered fajitas. We all agreed that it was the worst Mexican food we have ever tried. We did not eat the food. I offered to pay for our drinks, the cheese dip, the rice and beans eaten from the side of the entree and the sour cream and quac eaten from the side of the shrimp quesadilla entree. We were still charged $31.00 for those items. The clerk said that everyone has different tastes and said she was sorry we did not like it. I do not recommend this restaurant. We left hungry and disappointed. On a good note, there was plenty of parking.
Parking: There was ample parking due to the lack of customers during what would have been the lunch rush time at 12:00 pm.

The meat tasted like it got burned up in a crock pot, 3 days ago. Our waitress got her bag and walked out mid meal.
