Our server Giovanni was very professional with excellent customer service-if he is not the restaurant manager he should be. My husband had the Parrillada for 1 and he said these were the best tasting and tender fajitas he has had at any restaurant. Also the portion was very filling. The Birria Tacos had a great flavor. We will be back!

We visited Nana’s Taqueria yesterday with some out-of-town guests who were eager to experience authentic Mexican food and culture during their trip to the Rio Grande Valley. As a local and small business owner myself, I love supporting fellow small businesses and was excited to share this place with them. First, I want to say how beautiful the restaurant is. The building and parking area are well-maintained, and the vibrant gift shop at the entrance is full of charm. It was a fun way to set the tone for what we hoped would be a memorable dining experience. The gift selection is lovely and thoughtfully curated to celebrate our Mexican culture — something I truly appreciated. Unfortunately, the service we received during our visit left us disappointed. The woman working in the gift shop didn’t greet us or seem interested in answering a couple of simple questions we had about the merchandise or the nearby border town we were discussing. It felt like we were bothering her, which was disheartening, especially when trying to give guests a warm welcome to our region. Once inside the restaurant, we were promptly greeted by a friendly hostess and seated right away — a great start. However, our waiter seemed disengaged from the beginning. When I greeted him and asked how he was doing, he didn’t acknowledge it and simply asked, “What can I get you to drink?” While I understand not everyone is into small talk, there was a noticeable lack of warmth and attentiveness. As we asked questions about the menu, he gave very brief responses while looking around the restaurant, rarely making eye contact. It felt like he was distracted and uninterested in helping us feel welcome or comfortable. That said, the food was delicious, fresh, and served quickly — a definite highlight of our visit. But even after leaving a generous tip and personally thanking our server on the way out, he still didn’t acknowledge me or return the gesture. My guests even commented more than once on how odd and unwelcoming the service had felt. I hesitated to write this review because I know how hard small business owners work, and I understand how damaging negative feedback can be. But I also believe that constructive feedback can help businesses grow. Nana’s is a beautiful place with great food and huge potential for an even better experience — but I hope management takes time to reflect on how customer service is just as important as the meal. First impressions matter, especially when your guests are excited to share a cultural gem with visitors. With just a little more attention to hospitality, this could be a truly standout destination.

Service provided by Juan was terrible was not welcoming at all we felt very rushed and bothersome to him it took forever for him to take our order and only came to drop off the food. My son never got a refill we had to remind him and I had to look for other servers to help. We never got a high chair for my child either until after asking several servers for one thankfully the food was delicious but after that we asked for dessert that took 30 minutes to arrive, that we just took it to go he claimed he checked on us several times which he did not he only came once I asked to speak to the manager and on top of that the photographer told my mother in law that she spoke great English which I am not sure why he would insinuate that she didn't speak English felt very rude and racist

I bragged to my family, who was visiting from out of town and it was a mistake to give them so many props of good food and quick service. They would not provide an office number nor an email address, so I am guessing giving this review will get to them. Extremely Poor customer service. NO organization whatsoever. We waited for an hour for our food. When they brought our food to us it was barely lukewarm (no steam coming from it) and when we told them the food was NOT hot as they claimed to have just finished getting done. Appetizer was brought out after reminding them of such. People around us were seated after us, ate, paid, and left before us. Waitress did not come to offer chips and salsa. We requested salsa and chips and got them from other servers except ours. They seemed to be bothered when we requested salsa and chip. They gave us a courtesy cheesecake but we did not get any utensils to eat it with. We requested utensils and they came back, dropped with plastic utensils on the table and seemed bothered to have to tend to us. I requested to speak to a manager on duty and no one was on shift. They did NOT have a phone number or email addresses to be given in order for us to complain too. They had a head server who had just as terrible manners as the other servers. They did not apologize for such bad service. Server did not come and check on what we need, such as drink refills. They did NOT update us on why our food was delayed. After all this they wanted to give us a discount…. My family members said how can you charge someone when you served cold food, terrible customer service and we have requested to speak to a manager and NOONE is in charge. The head server said with an attitude “then don’t pay for the food”; she turned around and walked away. No apology whatsoever NOR did she acknowledge that they messed up. It will be the last time I recommend this place to anyone.

Should’ve read the reviews before we went. This place has really gone downhill. Margaritas have a splash (if that) of liquor and check your receipt before you pay. We got charged for extra drinks that the server messed up on. Also, our party of 8 was only given 1 tiny bowl of chips to SHARE!

Poor service the food smelled really bad and to top it off they didn’t tell us that the bottom of the forks were really hot and my mother in law burned her mouth.
