This was our first time dinning at VII Kitchen. We arrived early and there wasn't any customer inside, but the place seem comfortable and inviting. The food arrived promptly and hot, the food did appeared to over seasoned and priced high. Plus they don't offer discounts.

Things they should work on.Answering the phone. I called repeatedly before and during business hours, and it took hours to get someone to answer the phone. Then they were extremely short with you.Reservations - I attempted to make reservations early on Saturday for Sunday. After calling numerous times between me and a friend, I was finally able to get someone on the phone who refused to make the reservation and said to book it online. I booked it online early Saturday and thought everything was good. I got to the restaurant and was told I did not have a reservation. I showed the employee the email, and he pointed out that the response sent to me at 2:09 AM in the morning that they were only accepting walk-ins. Now, we had to get on the waiting list. We waited about 45 minutes, and then we were seated. I think we only waited that long because the employee empathized with the situation and wanted to accommodate us. Thank you.Band - scheduled time was 2-4 pm, but they started at 2:25pm. They definitely stopped at 4 pm, not 4:25pm. Now the show and entertainment were excellent. It helped me get over the hiccup with the reservations, but I wished we had more time.The overall experience was good. I would definitely go again. But, I would recommend making reservations days in advance and checking your confirmation. Hopefully, they will not send it during sleep hours.The food was delicious, and the service (waitress) was good. If the food and the live band were not good, I would have given them 2 STARS.

I visited this establishment. A few time and still very committed. Parking was never an issue, and even when I arrived and the event was "booked," someone always failed to show up, allowing US to still enjoy the night. I went on Valentine's Day, and wow, what a feeling. Several factors created a mood all at once, such as candlelight, a steak dinner, a nice decorated table with music, dark setting and great couples that night. Very affordable then most places. Also the shrimp and grits is the (S)ugar (H)oney (I)ce (T)ea.. The chicken has that cruncchhh lawd have mercy, the waffle is just regular nothing fancy. The side salad was alot enough to feed 2 people. Catfish was soft but ends was crispy and fries was good. Steak wasss amazing and is the size of the plate and alittle bit hanging over. We sometimes get the mimosas with the small Jug that drinks 2 people get about 4-5 drinks out of the jug. Customer service most times are great, sometimes it can be off as they be very limited on waitresses and being over-worked. Happy Hour during the week is great, quiet with low music, affordable popular dishes, smaller portions but still has the amazing flavors. Last but not least kid friendly, no cussing music just a vibe,plenty kids be there and they have no problem which is a huge factor for most. You can still come mom and all and enjoy a upscale meal and music. Nobody is left out in this establishment.

Never got my main entree. The appetizers were good, but the service and staff was subpar. Idk if it was because they were busy, but when we got there there were only a handful of other parties. The hostess was blah, and seemed she didn't want to be there and because we had a party over 6, gratuity was already added at the end, which is why I believe our server didn't take as much care with us as the other tables. We got there at 530 pm on a Saturday. The fried oreos were great but ask for a bowl because they brought it out on a plate and it was already melting.

They have the absolute BEST GRITS I HAVE EVER HAD … AMAZING! Today I got the Catfish and it was WONDERFUL .The service overall was just OKAY. Our waitress was nice, attentive and VERY GOOD for having a party of 10 all to herself. The live band was a nice touch-even though she kept pushing us to buy drinks! Which I did but waiting 20+ minutes for ONE DRINK is NOT COOL. And then I decided to just buy two drinks at once since it took so long just to get the first one.The food was AMAZING. The Live music is a GREAT touch. I would definitely visit again.
