Dickey's Barbecue Pit

to start off with no sweet tea this afternoon. for some reason, my pulled pork sandwich was full of fat and burnt ends of pulled pork 20% actual edible meat at best. mac and cheese was hard and crusty and burnt from sitting in the warmers all day. got a half a cup of sauce for said Sandwich. (I suppose they knew how much meat there was actually in the deal and how much sauce I would need 😔). My okra was burnt was burnt to the point of no return.

Ordered 3 chop beef sandwiches and the meat was tender and juice but had a very weird taste to them.
For $30 we threw them away.

The food is always good here. The fries are well seasoned and food is always fresh. The staff is accommodating and friendly. I'm a customer for life!

We have gotten sliced brisket to go from Dickeys for years. Purchased a pound yesterday. The meat was dry, tough and chewy. It's what my wife wanted for her birthday meal. We ended up throwing it out. Very disappointed considering what it cost now. Will not be going back here.

Totally regret going . Woman obviously hates her job . Had to tell me of an upcharge that was not on the sign . These kids should be trained to to do these jobs correctly . They still have 0 clue how the real world works . Dickeys must have horrible mgmt to let this continue

Got pick up at 7:30 PM. They didn’t give me my drink and the okra was burned. Never again will I go back.

Basic BBQ. But sliced beef BBQ was all dried up, way over seasoned. Tasted like corned beef. Not very good. Prices have really gone up. $35 for a baked potato loaded and a BBQ sandwich combo.

Everytime we eat here no one else is ever eating there. Again as usual we got there around 6:30pm my wife asked what meats they have available. The lady snapped at her and said they are up there and point rudely at the board. My wife asked for a 2 meat plate, burnt ends and sliced brisket. Again the lady snapped we don't have either of those. That was the reason we asked in the first place. So we went ahead and ordered a 2 meat plate with ribs and sausage our 2 sides was macaroni and potatoe salad. She rang it all up it came to 47.98 I paid. They brought out the food and boy was that a disappointment. There was 2 ribs mostly bone. And 6 slices of sausage. The macaroni was hard and cold. We have ate there several times and never had this type of experience. It was horrible and we will not ever go back. It is sad when we left I was still hungry that's how little of good they gave us. For 50.00 I can find a much better option than bad rude service and little food portions.

Went here on Thursday on 7-Eleven Customer service her name was JJ. She said she ran up my order wrong and charge me wrong. Don’t recommend this place here on Palestine Street in Athens bad service. Don’t know when I’m gonna get my refund. The manager don’t even work but in the morning to repair your receipts. Also I drove from Grand Prairie to help a friend in gunbarrel in the service was bad. I threw half my potato away. The meat was cold that ain’t no service.

Poorly managed location. Nice kid at the counter, but the food was nowhere close to the quality of the locations we've frequented in the DFW area for years.

I just picked up food in the drive thru and paid $14.99 total w/tax for 10 over cooked, dried out, over seasoned with dry rub so they were very salty, chicken wings and a piece of toast. Part of the charge was a $.39 fee listed as Renew/Recycle Program.

Purchased ribs and brisket for dinner. Absolutely terrible. Brisket rubbery and extremely dry. You absolutely could not eat. Ribs seemed to be old and dry not seasoned and certainly not smoked. Terrible experience. Spoke to several friends and they all have had the same experience. Doesn’t seem that the business owner is interested in making a change and certainly isn’t concerned with the public they serve in Athens Tx.

Brought my family in for lunch. We received horrible service and the food was inedible and disgusting. We will not be coming back.
