Great hidden gem in Athens. While traveling through Athens, we were hungry for Mexican food and tracked down this restaurant. The food and service was great! We had the barbacoa tacos which were covered with onions and cilantro. This appears to be where the locals come.

It is a very clean and best authentic Mexican food in Texas that I have found so far. It is warm in the restaurant because of the building itself. 106 outside and it was still cool enough for me (heat intolerant person) to sit down and enjoy my meal. I give it 5 stars for sure. I wish I lived closer. I will be back when I am in Athen Texas again.

This felt like being in a border town, and I loved seeing the family running it--including the mischievous little boy; it was like being in their home! Great, fresh street tacos with horchata sweet enough for dessert. I'll be in every time I'm through town so I can try the rest of the menu. ¡Gracias, caros amigos!Parking: Just to the northwest of downtown Athens by a block in each direction. Highly recommend!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access right into the double front doors for those requiring it. Plenty of space around the tables for mobility.
