My daughter has a severe peanut allergy and I have been too scared to take her out for ice cream… finally caved today after she’d asked several times while driving past. When I mentioned it to Dan behind the counter, he promptly thoroughly washed his hands and asked which flavor she wanted so that he could get it from an unopened container in the back. He is amazing and their policy is so good! I am so glad I brought her in ♡

who doesn't like ice cream?? I love how it's also attached to phil's ice house and it's one of the few restaurants left that actually has a playground still. My son loved the big cows on the playground.

The service is actually just fine but their choices in how to spend their time with the customers lined to the door is bizarre. Busy time of the night, two people behind the counter. One just stayed in back and cleaned the whole time. Management may want to do some training.

For context, I’m writing this as someone who used to work for Amy’s, at this location.
I stopped by for dessert after dinner with my boyfriend. Staff was fine, except when the person helping me misheard my order and had a sour attitude when I corrected them - which I politely did as soon as I noticed the color of the ice cream was wrong. Hell, maybe I even said my order wrong at first, but even then, it’s one scoop in the trash, not a big deal.
The ice cream itself was great as always, but the restaurant is a nightmare. I felt this way when I worked there, the back of house is very poorly designed with minimal space. From the customer side of the counter, i could see behind the counter was a mess. It was end of night on a Sunday so I understand the staff must have been dealing with a busy night, and I know how messy those could be. But a better organized workspace makes all the difference. Having a cramped L- shaped hallway to work with to run a restaurant is insane. There is just not enough room to have an efficient workspace, and it looks horrible and haphazard in my opinion. I’m really disappointed that Amy’s has not improved the space in the last ten years. But at least the company shelled out some cash to put a giant ice cream sculpture on the roof.

Last time I was there an insane guy attacked me for going around his car that was stopped at the entrance, since he was causing a pile up on the road, not seeing that he was yielding to a person backing out of a space who didn’t have the right of way. No one called the cops despite him blasting his horn in my ear walking into the restaurant for the honest mistake, and rushing to my car as I was walking towards it. I hope him and his family are no longer welcome there. This is his license plate as I started recording for fear of my safety.
