An actual Sports Bar in S Austin. The games take precedent and the sound is always on. Staff is amazing and the food is delicious. 10/10 highly recommend.
We got the Irish Nachos, Southwest Chicken Wrap and Smokey BBQ Burger. The food was excellent! Best wrap I’ve had in a long time and the queso on the Irish Nachos was sooo good! Our waitress, Alyssa H., was wonderful and so sweet. Highly recommend and will be back!Wheelchair accessibility: All one level
Always a great hang at my favorite watering hole. From the colorful cast and characters of regulars to the killer staff (Claire, Sofia, Tierney, Rob and of course Heather running the ship) - there's just no better neighborhood bar in Southwest Austin than Backspin. Whether you're looking for a place to watch a game with friends or a nice afternoon hideaway to work on your laptop, this place is the best.

We came here again to watch the women's Iowa college basketball game, and had a great time. Our waitress Haylee L absolutely crushed it and did a fantastic job. Food was good too. We will be back!

Good low key sports bar. They had the sound on for the NFL playoff games. Decent specials and service was great.

Blah food. The football games were wayyyy too loud. The ketchup tasted weird. Tots were decent. Nice server.

We went on a Saturday night to watch a Hockey game. Service was sporadic. Food was only "fine". When the one hockey game finished up, we asked to change the channel to see the next game. Waited 30 minutes for the waitress to come back to our table, and they never put the next game on. Probably won't be back. It's a shame. We really wanted to find a neighborhood bar we could call our own. But this isn't it for us. Service and food are mediocre and they wouldn't put our game on even one of the many many TVs.

I ducked in to watch the Phillies/Diamondbacks playoff game and grab a bit to eat. Had the wings and garlic fries, which at happy hour pricing was a great deal. Tried the buffalo hot sauce, a good homage to the original wing covering and the wings were a good size and cooked correctly. The garlic fries were good, not as "garlicky" as I expected but went well with the wings. Happy hour draft pricing was also good, and the place had a nice after work/early dinner crowd. After a struggle to find the game, my bartender got it on, although it was the MLB feed in Spanish. Not a huge deal since they left the music on instead of the game broadcast, but trying to figure out stats took a bit of research into my 2 years of high school Spanish memories. The place is your standard corner of a strip mall plain square box, but a large bar and lots of TVs check off some of the sports bar boxes. If they had found the actual TBS feed and put on the sound for a championship series game like a real sports bar should, I would have gone 5 stars.

My sandwich was really good and the choice of beers is really good. I don't love the new potato chips ?

Very chill bar to watch Sunday football. Not too crowded. Has highchairs, which was nice.
We left before we ordered. The place was filthy. Dead and live crickets were everywhere both outside and, most importantly INSIDE the establishment. The floors had not been cleaned and when I tried to move the high chair away from our table it was so sticky. We asked that our table be wiped clean as it was dirty from the previous diners....we walked out when the wait staff came back to the table with nothing to clean the table with.....I commented to the staff that we were leaving due to the place being unclean....they just shrugged like no big deal. I wonder what the NON public spaces look like....where prying customer eyes cannot see....aka the kitchen. Yuck.

The only reason it's getting 2 stars is because the bartender was friendly to us. The bar was dirty when we sat down - we cleaned it ourselves. We ordered the potato skins which were cold. The Buffalo wings were just okay. The celery was rotten. The carrots were tough as a board. Total bust. We won't be back.
