This is a class old-school coffee shop. For some reason it almost felt like a boat with the rail stairs in the middle. The atmosphere is clearly dated but yet feels appropriate for a 24-hour caffeine stop. I got a honey cream latte, which I discovered was cold. Probably good since it was 31°c when we came in. My wife got a regular latte and finished it quickly. Really a nice place to get your java on.

The drinks are okay, food options aren’t awesome. Main thing is to not trust the baristas to make something decaf, I asked the barista last night for a decaf drink and double checked with her before taking it that it was decaf and she said yes.

Then I spent all night rolling around due to it clearly not being decaf at all. Quite a week ruiner.

I think Bennu is a great idea and the north location is great but i’ve been to this south location twice now and the dyed red haired girl with the glasses is absolutely dreadful. No personality, attitude, and rude. Every time i’ve been there, so has she :/ she takes forever to make food/drinks too.

Calm environment with a whole menu of mochas named for books. Hard to find a seat among students and online working folks but cute environment, friendly baristas who make suggestions, plentiful parking so coose to downtown.

Asked for a hot coffee with steamed milk. Got an insanely strong coffee that was slightly warm.

The hazelnut iced latte was watered down milk with syrup. Hardly any caffeine. Plus I was charged extra when I requested for less ice, which is not common in my experience. Quite expensive for such a drink!

Very strange policy of 3 hour code for wifi until next purchase...

I’ve had good experiences here except one time when I made the mistake of asking whether you had iced coffee. The barista gave me so much attitude. I hope that he doesn’t still work there because it really soured the whole rest of my day. Mind you, I asked one single question. And then I chose a different beverage for myself. Said, that’s ok. I have been a barista. I have had busy days at work. As they say, there is no need to behave like that. When the drink was ready, he goes, “cold brew!” And that’s cool, and when he noticed I didn’t immediately go to grab it, he says VERY loudly, enough so that all the corners of Bennu could hear it, “It’s the same as iced coffee!” Just so aggressive. Who hurt you? Not me. I waited till the drink my S.O. got was ready, and then we got them and drove away. A caffeine fix in the middle of whatever the day of the week it was. So simple, and could have been a relaxing part of my day.

Sometimes people act like they are ready to fight you. They’re not though. Not ready to fight. They just want you to make them feel better. I can’t. I am tired. I dealt with other people’s feelings that they also can’t self-regulate. I was actually NOT going to this café in order to make you feel better. I did NOT insult you. I did not insult Bennu. And even if I had, even if someone else does, why are you so proud of a menu you did not design?

And since I did not belittle you or speak badly about the establishment or do anything besides order a bev, I did not feel the need to justify anything or explain. And I didn’t deserve the way you treated me. If anyone has read this far, I have to say, This is why introverts don’t like to leave their homes. This is why autistic people prefer alone time. This is the reason sensitive people view going into a public space and interacting with others as a potential landmine. I did not go there to hype you up, nor to take care of your special feelings. If I am disappointed at something in life, I pivot. I get it, it’s stressful. Try going home and decompressing. Iced coffee is absolutely not the same as cold brew. You know, I know, all of Austin knows it. I WANT it to taste like that because I don’t want the concentrated flavor. Is that actually offensive to someone? I don’t want to get coffee from a place that hired someone that acts they were going to slam the drink down. I don’t want coffee made with hate. If I make my own ICED COFFEE most of the time and I choose to get it from a place every once in a while, I don’t want to pay with cash and my peace.

Vegan options. Parking: medium difficulty to find a spot.
Never had a bad latte here.
Many people park at the tables with their laptops.

One star for the nice lady at the front but the drinks taste like homeless pee, like literal pee. I’m not exaggerating. I’ve given this place many chances to be better but their drinks just suck. Whatever you do, DONT GET MATCHA OR ANYTHING WITH TEA. matter of fact, don’t get anything.

Cozy place with lots of seating. Pretty good drip coffee. They have their own blend of coffee beans from a local roastery. Located near a nice park and shopping.

Honestly a great place to get work or reading done. I drank 3 coffees, they were great, but I must warn you, they are strong, they are not to be trifled with. I am used to weak sipping coffees, these are not so, take in moderation with water in between. I regret not buying the coffee beans, will come back at a later day.
