Lovely upscale restaurant that is also family friendly. The food was very good especially the filet mignon.
We were staying at the resort and booked dinner for a party of 4. We had a beautiful table outside overlooking the green space on the property. Our server was knowledgeable on the menu, able to make recommendations and was very friendly. We didn't feel rushed and had a great experience overall. Food was amazing, great drink selections and fun mocktails too. Would definitely dine again, and highly recommend.
Friday night dinner with my wife was great at the Blind Salamander. To get there you have to drive a few buildings down to the actual Omni resort. Of note they do complimentary valet if you are dining in. Valet employees were friendly and quick. The seating attendants upon entry were a bit awkward when they were trying to seat us but maybe it's because they were young and not super experienced. Our server (Brett I think?) was fabulous. We sat outside and that was really nice as well as there was live music at the time for some other event they had. Food: we had the burrata which was excellent. We had the oysters as well and those were really clean and tasted pretty good. For main entree I had the king fish which was just okay to me. The texture was great but it could have been a bit more seasoned in my opinion. It tasted a bit bland. It was paired with maybe a polenta and a slaw and that too was okay. Nothing fantastic. My wife had the lamb picanha and that was pretty good. They seem to have done it medium rare to medium on default and that was decent enough. She mentioned her carrots and asparagus were really good as well and not too crunchy which she usually dislikes. The crab Mac and cheese was very good and worth getting in my opinion if you are super hungry and think the sides that come with the entree wouldn't be enough. Overall decent experience bar the king fish and the awkwardness with the seating attendants. Waiter was very nice and made up for a lot of the aforementioned deficiencies.
Barry, our server, was outstanding!!! The food was excellent and we had a wonderful time with our friends. We will be sure and head back there again, and then not too distant future.
Not worth the money. The staff was overwhelmed and none speak English. The food was good for Mother's Day.
The Blind Salamander lately is my top favorite restaurant in Austin. Fantastic!!! Thank you
The easter brunch was overpriced for what was available. Drinks were over charged and I thought included in the brunch cost. Guess it was not crowded because others knew what I just learned.
The vibe and location were great. It took quite awhile to get our main courses by the time they arrived our hunger was suppressed.
This was another excellent meal. We enjoyed the new items on the menu as well as old staples . We had the crudo, oysters,Caesar salad, red fish, pork chop, steak and pasta-delicious! We had one new item that was good but not great, the peach burratta . The flavors were yummy but the bread served with it seemed odd. Our server, Barry was stellar as usual and guided us through the new menu with ease. He stayed on top of the meal timing all of the courses out perfectly. We had a great time and look forward to returning.
It was fantastic! I ordered the filet minon and the crab mac and cheese, both of which were fabulous! The filet was seasoned beautifully. Also, I highly recommend the rockstar martini! It had a light and fruity taste and came with a side of champagne. Overall, a great experience!!

I don't blame the staff, but the wine list is subpar. Management needs a better selection of wines in the $150 to $350 range. And the wines on the paper menu need to be updated regularly for what's available and with the correct vintage. We were rescued by the sommelier walking over to Bob's to get a good bottle of wine.
The Caesar salad was absolutely delicious. Loved the potato chips instead of croutons. The French onion soup was quite good as well. Unfortunately, our scallops were overcooked and rubbery and the accompanying risotto tasted like soap (likely due to the overuse of saffron). Our side of mac and cheese tasted good, but the sauce was so thin it was like eating soup with pasta. Chocolate ice cream dessert was spicy and nothing indicated it was on the menu, so this was an unpleasant surprise.
Service was superb. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was enchanting. Very enjoyable experience.
The good: cocktails, shrimp cocktail, oysters, mussels. The bad: cacio e pepe. It was watery and the noodles were overcooked. The kicker was that the dish was $30. We added chicken and it was a sad piece of grilled chicken, nothing special, and that was $20. So, all in, $50 for a borderline inedible dish for anyone with any level of discernment. However the mussels were phenomenal and only $15! The pricing was confusing but the main takeaway is the cacio e pepe needs to be reworked, deleted, or priced differently. Best to avoid it if you're headed here.
Went for Valentine's Day after a memorable one in 2023. 2023 had very unique dishes with lots of protein, flavor, volume, and overall balance; you could tell there was a lot of effort in the food and presentation. Unfortunately this 2025 experience wasn't quite up to par. Most of the dishes were not impressive, and felt cheap and low effort. Each course was a family-style-for-2, which was quite a bummer and was awkward to share. I would've preferred separately served plates like they had previously. In the end, we left still hungry.
