Got let into Burnside Tavern on Sixth Street by the bouncer with no problem. I walked to the bar, and not even two minutes later, the same bouncer came up to me and told me I had to leave—with no explanation at all. I wasn’t drunk, wasn’t causing any kind of disruption, and was just standing quietly checking my phone. The only thing I can think of is maybe he thought I was filming or recording something, but even if that were the case, he never asked or clarified—he just told me to leave. I’ve been to a lot of places on Sixth and never had anything like this happen. The whole situation felt unprofessional and weird. If the bar has a policy against something, they should communicate it clearly instead of randomly kicking people out for unclear reasons. Definitely not the kind of vibe I expect in Austin.
Long story short: i went in and after like 2 minutes of being in there, the security guy told me I had to leave and have no idea why. Mind you, this is the same security guy that let me in.
They may have kicked me out after letting me in and not give a reason, but in return, I give you this negative review. :)

Tried calling all day and they don't answer
Walked in, very average atmosphere, nothing upscale or classy. Just an average joint. Order 2 high noons (seltzers)….$30 ! For reference, we are staying at an upscale hotel, Hilton downtown, where it costs $10 per high noon lol. Knowing this is not normal, we immediately left and asked the doorman on the way out if that was the right price and he said “that is definitely not right”. Asked to speak to the manager like a karen and guess what?! The lady who made up that price/served us was the manager! Embarrassing. Check where you’re at lady, this is not a rooftop patio at the 4 seasons, you’re a ratchet bar on 6th.

Kinda cool. It is very similar to other bars on the strip. They did have good live music so it was a positive for sure.
I was asked to come in and have Free drinks 4 drinks with my friends lol… Then some blonde hair blue eyes girlz showed up & they were uncomfortable now I’m being kicked out for their comfort. If you’re a Black person don’t go to thus establishment. I had a conversation with the door man and he looked me in my face and lied. I hadn’t been there long or talked to anyone but the people I came in with, whom he said I was harassing at the bar. I said how is that? He couldn’t answer then I said we came in together & that’s what he didn’t see. After explaining it he felt embarrassed & I told him he shouldn’t discriminate or say someone is being aggressive and harassing others because you don’t feel comfortable with them being black. He told me we didn’t have to talk about it any more & that I could go back in he was giving me a warning. So I asked the girls what I did and they refused to comment. This is very sad that being black in Austin is a crime. Y’all have gotta do better. I just left after that & I reiterated how I felt on the way out. He was like don’t feel bad and don’t cry I’m just letting you know. & I explained once again it wasn’t because of anything I did it’s because I’m a black person & him and those girls expressed their biases to portray an unfair and hurtful stereotype. I hate this place and do not recommend any go to an establishment that promotes such harmful behavior.

The atmosphere here is great! Every time I’ve wandered around downtown during the night, I’ve always landed here. They usually have great music. The icing on the cake is that this is an Atlanta Falcons bar! It’s probably my Sunday spot for nfl games

This place is a complete scam. Ordered 3 high noons and 3 shots of espolón, bartender ran my card w/o telling me the total and gave me a receipt for $91. Don’t go here.

Either it was a bait and switch with the “free drink” offer or they add a lot of hidden fees. Our subtotal was supposedly $18 for two beers but later saw our card was charged $30. Beware! They also automatically add a 20% tip which we thankfully caught before adding more to our bill.

Everything was fine until a fight broke out and security used excessive force on my neck trying to make me faint, he didn't succeed, but he did manage to dislocate or break a cartilage in my trachea, which apart from hurting me, resulted in an exaggerated expenditure of money on care. medical
