I love Cafe Java and have been coming here for years but you guys need to stop orders through delivery partners and stick to in person service. No joke, 3/3 of my favor orders were wrong. Missing coffee, wrong tacos etc.

I’ll come back but just not going to order delivery again.

Awesome place. We split a boudin and egg scramble with hash browns and refried beans. My wife bought some coffee. The waiter was friendly. The atmosphere was “weird” with those kachina dolls everywhere but it added a cool vibe to the place.

My favorite breakfast in Austin. The grilled blueberry muffin is one of my favorite things to eat but anything on the menu is delicious.. This place is also super affordable and has great price and the servers are always really fast and friendly. But 100% come for the grilled muffins. Also love their specialty lattes. I always try something different this time. I had a really yummy Matcha. My friend and I love to come here as a group because they’re fast and yummy. Honestly, it’s a super unassuming place in a strip mall, but the breakfast is amazing. Definitely get there early though it can get packed pretty quickly.

Breakfast with old friends, so good!

Possibly the greatest little cafe in all of Austin and maybe the country. Incredible breakfast, try the Hill Country if you're ready to eat. The lunch specials will stun with their creativity and make you drool. The Monday meatloaf madness is a plate licking experience (it's ok if you do it; we all do). The coffee of the day is always strong enough that you can hear colors after 2 cups. The staff are super cool and friendly but, don't be a jerk, or you're gone. The wait is worth it. Be patient and thank me later.

Salty, and devious of the omelet.

Cuban coffee was on point. Quick efficient. Loved it.

Their merch has Republican imagery hung at eye level right in your face as you walk in the door. Stupid.

On our continued hunt for a cheap and delicious breakfast place we found ourselves at Cafe Java. We’ve taken their coffee to go many times but never fully sat down so we were very excited. The restaurant does get packed very frequently so we put ourselves on the waitlist through Google. When we arrived we were seated immediately, skipping a line of 5+ parties (it pays to prepare).

Upon sitting down we were greeted (kinda, not really) by our waitress who was very low energy and avoidant. She took our orders through a handheld device and didn’t lift her eyes up one time during the process. We ordered a corn beef hash platter, the French toast, and cinnamon rolls. Our food came out extremely quickly despite how busy the restaurant was which was nice to see.

To sum the food up: it was not good. The corn beef hash tasted like they uncanned it and grilled it for 30 seconds before plating it. The hash browns were average, the eggs a bit below. The French toast was not good, lacking any flavor or real depth to the actual bread, as well as the bacon looked crispy but somehow was not. We had very high hopes for the cinnamon rolls but were met with the laziest excuse for one we have ever seen. The roll itself is large and coated with very little icing and a ton of strawberries (why???). It tasted like a hint of cinnamon and pretty much capped off what we were feeling about the food to that point anyway.

Throughout our time there our server didn’t check on us once, not even to refill our cups of coffee. When it was time for the bill and to collect her tip was the only time she showed any real enthusiasm to come over. Maybe it was a series of unfortunate events, maybe it was an off day. Either way it’s safe to assume we will not be back to try Cafe Java out again.

The blandest migas ever. Salsa was just blended tomatoes.
