Don’t order food to go here.
They screwup the order to go and when I call and requested to comp the food they offered $2.00 off the $72.00 bill.
$15 dollars food and coffee went to the garbage can.

Friendly, tasty, and affordable. Would eat there more and review higher if they moved away from cooking with seed oils.
Reply from owner that they will cook in what I ask. The cost of high quality (from grass fed cows) butter would be prohibitive. I've found that refined coconut oil is far cheaper. If I ask for that next time, will it be available?

Just got door dash and they forgot the bacon. It stinks when a delivery order is missing an item because there’s nothing you can do.

Usually this place is great, food and service. However, we hadn't been in, in awhile and went this past weekend. There was an older waitress we got, that was very unpleasant. We changed tables before we even ordered. Going forward, I would make sure to be seated in a different waitress' serving area. Definitely wouldn't want her again. For a usually pleasant place to eat/service, don't need the grumpy to ruin our breakfast out.

I would like to thank Josh for carrying the torch of providing family service. I have been coming to Java cafe for 14 years and management has changed but the restaurant always maintained a feeling of home, and community. Everyone greeted everyone providing a feeling of love that resinated in the food. I often come here to be refreshed. I didn’t feel it in my last two trips. I arrived un-greeted sitting at the bar waiting for service both times. While I’d admit it was busy I could tell that service has demographically shifted from community to production. With that said the first trip Josh noticed that I was not served, and immediately came to assist asking if I had been help. He introduced himself, he asked for my drink selection, and he offered me a menu. I informed him that I was a long time customer, and asked if they were under new management. He told me yes for the past few years. I advised him how I felt service changed from old to new magement. I promised I would do a review, but never got to it. Here I am again today on Christmas eve because where better to go than a staple of the Austin community to enjoy a Christmas eve meal. I come in and sit for about 8 minutes with no service until JOSH see me, and provides that family welcome. My order was messed up 3 times because I wasn’t listen too and I was very patient about it. There was pork in my food, and I was being questioned “was I sure it wasn’t a mushroom”?, after asking for turkey sausage only. Like a grown man would mistake a sautéed mushroom for, skillet bacon? It still didn’t come out right but I am thankful for Josh still caring about service.

We love Java. Have for years. The food is always delicious and the service wonderful. I have to give a special thank you to Jessica for taking such good care of me at lunch yesterday. She truly went above and beyond for me and I am truly grateful for her. Thank you!

Café Java is my favorite place to eat in all of Austin! I’ve lived here for a little over five years now and if I’m going to spend my money at a restaurant, it will probably be café Java! I love the ambience of people talking and laughing I go by myself most of the time and love watching the people who work there work together like a smooth machine showing love and courtesy to want another as they go. I have never eaten anything that I did not enjoy. I’ve eaten breakfast lunch and dinner, but my favorite is breakfast and you can get it all day! But the very best part of café Java is their employees Vikki, Billie,Jessica, Josh, Patrick,Alfonso , Beatricia, Marty, William and all, are loving, kind, warm and no matter how busy they are they always take a moment to make sure you feel welcomed and cared about! It is a rare business in a rushed, cold and greedy world! I will always be back and I will always bring my friends and family who visit me!
