Carabao Express food is horrible. This is NOT how Filipino food should be.I am a Filipino and been eating Filipino food since birth, I was disappointed to find that the taste was nowhere close to filipino taste. After the 1st bite, I couldn't bear to continue. But I. gave it a second chance - i took a 2nd bite, give benefit of the doubt… Confirmed Horrible. My mom didnt take a 2nd bite at all, she said THIS is not right. The flavors were off, I gave sincere kind feedback to the staff of how bad the food is, and its a truly a waste of time and money, I had to throw the food after 2 bites. Just in case they don’t know how bad the food was.We ordered sisig and one of the combination plates.I hope you have way better experience than us.

Four of us had lunch today in Carabao Express. The resto is clean; wall leaf mural is appealing. Self-order was a breeze. The food though was very disappointing. Pancit had an unfamiliar taste to it. Hubby said it must be the soy sauce you used. Our suggestion - please do not use that soy sauce or that ingredient. Chicken inasal tasted like dried adobo. Lechon kawali lacked its characteristic crispiness and was bland. For the turon, did you use canned banana? We did eat the food; we just did not enjoy them. The fifty four dollar meal was not worth the price. If I may suggest, please get an authentic Pinoy chef to help you improve the taste of the food offerings.

My family are not adventurous eaters but I convinced then to try Carabao. They loved it. My wife and 3 year old inhaled the chicken adobo. The picky 5 year old was satisified with the chicken inasal. And the 1 year old kept reaching into my boodle box for more pancit noodles. All was flavorful but nothing was spicy. In a testament to the food when I said it was time to go the 3 year old grabbed his chicken adobo and left his Dole Whip dessert behind.

Easy ordering system. We did online, but when we got there we wanted to order the cherry dole whip. So we ordered the ice cream on their self-order touch screen. At it on our ride home. Food was amazing. Everything had so much flavor. We had the pork sisig, the chicken adobo, pork tocino, pancit, garlic rice, and lumpia. We didn’t need that much food lol, and now we have plenty of left overs because of the sizeable portions (we ordered all that between two people). But it’s hard not to order a lot when they have so many great options, and I’m glad we did. I’m not great at taking food photos so I’m not going to add them, sorry ?.

This place was mediocre compared to what I expected it to be. The pork was decent but the garlic rice was pretty bad. My wife enjoyed her birria tacos.

Worst example of Filipino food, fusion or not! When you first opened, the food was great! What happened?! I think you need Filipino people back in there to work! The sisig is NOT SISIG anymore. Wth are you doing giving our kababayan a bad name with this misrepresentation of our food. Everything we ordered was soggy and gravy like! My sisig tacos were so soggy they fell apart. The adobo chicken and sisig had a thick gravy sauce, garlic rice was clumpy and soggy, no taste of garlic! Only good was the ube soft serve. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU WANT REAL Filipino style cuisine! What a joke! For better Filipino food, try Kapatad or Lil Mama's

One thing I noticed here in Austin is that we have very few Filipino restaurants. I guess because we don't have much Pinoy's here? Anywho, we tried this place because we were too lazy to cook and to also try out what Austin Pinoy Resto's have to offer. The restaurant itself is clean, they have a nice backyard with a potential to have some live music and bar. I dont have an issue with a Filipino restaurant not having Filipino cooks as long as they know how to prepare the dish.Carabao was a hit and miss. I liked the pancit, it reminded me of back home street food vendors ans the rest were ok'ish.

The food was great, service was great but the ambiance of being a Filipino restaurant wasn't there. The place has a very simple dining area. Just tables/benches and chairs. No wall decorations, etc. Having decorations on the walls with paintings or a historical piece of art about the Philippines would have been nice. You know eating at a Filipino restaurant and also feeling like you are in the Philippines would be nice, especially since we long and yearn for our homeland and get that feeling of loneliness sometimes. So if they only had the ambiance, I would be giving that place 5 stars.

Okay I came here to try. I usually go to Lil Mamas but decided try this place. Looks visually appealing ordering sisig with garlic rice combo and pansit was all too salty together. If choosing these plain white rice is best. Good pickled onions but taste of sisig I did not care for. The sauce on the bottom was overpowering. First bite was okay but after that no bueno. The sweet longanisa isn’t the traditional longanisa I’m used to. It’s Patties but still the taste well that’s not Filipino. The lechon kawali you can’t really mess up and flavor was on point but some pieces were chewier than others. I don’t care for those. Maybe cook 5min longer/broil. Restroom was clean and small but decent dining area/cafe. Service fast. Very busy takeout and me myself and I dining in but I did come off hours (Linner)

The pictures of the Boodle Box look great, right? I mean, what's not to like in those pictures? The colors are fantastic, the amount and variety of different dishes in one container are things that most of us find appealing and the price is great for what you get... all good stuff, right? Yes, for most, I'm guessing... for adventurous people who want to try out Philippine cuisine that don't know any better, that do not know what good Filipino food should taste like.If you are Filipino/a who knows how Philippine cuisine should taste like, or anyone else who knows the tastes.... DO NOT come here because their Google listing appealed to you because of the great photos and menu prices, you will be highly disappointed. Don't waste your time travelling to this place and spending your money on the food. It's a lot of food in that box... tocino, pancit, rice, lechon kawali, chicken adobo, 1 lumpiang Shanghai roll, and 1 mini vegetable fried lumpia... again, awesome variety right?NONE of it tasted good. Ok, of course this is a subjective review but... I grew up on Filipino food, both at home and countless other homes and Filipino restaurants. I am no expert but I know how Filipino food should taste. This is THE first time in my 50 years of living I came into a restaurant and sampled basically all the staples and I found ALL dishes I ordered both unappealing and unsatisfying. So much so, I worked hard on eating at least half of it, just so I wouldn't waste it all. What's the story here? How is this place called Carabao Express? (I love this name by the way, another reason I decided to come and try it). It definitely made me think as I was dining there. One characteristic of a Filipino restaurant is staff... usually, there's at least one Filipino person. Here, there was none.Enough said.

I ordered a Salu-salo Gathering hood for 12-16 people with a total cost of $151.96 including tax excluding tips. It was reasonable but the pork sisig is not authentic pork sisig the pansit is good the latch on kawali is crispy and tasty.

Came to Austin for a conference and suddenly craved for Filo food so we went here as other places were close. They're quick and have fair prices. Food was okay and satisfied the cravings, but not authentic. Tried pork belly sisig, palabok, lumpia, lechon kawali and chicken inasal. I liked the lechon kawali and sisig (unique touch of jalapeños). My husband only liked lechon kawali. I still encourage everyone to experience for themselves though!

Reminds of my moms cooking and for a Filipino to say this, it’s goooood? I got the boodle fight plate because I was feeling Frisky, so I had to. Food was amazing! I totally recommend!!!

Ordering was easy, prices fair, service excellent. I ordered pork belly sisig which was delicious. My friend ordered the 2 entree box but they didn't get the option of choosing pork sisig (it showed as sold out) but I was able to get it with mine, the 1 item box set. She didn't care for the garlic fried rice but raved about the lechon! Overall, I would come back here again and would recommend for fast food Filipino food ? Congrats and gl with the business

10/10 would definitely go again. Everything was fast and the food was great. Honestly, my mouth is watering right now thinking about it!
