CARVE American Grille - Barton Creek

Considering that I'm a vegetarian and this is (obviously) a very meat-y restaurant, this was a very good experience. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the decor is elegant, the semi-outdoor seating was pleasantly breezy on a hot day (I could do without the huge TVs, but that's me). I simply wanted to get a quick drink with an old friend and we chose Carve purely because of its location. We arrived during their happy hour (which starts at 3:00). We ordered a couple of tasty cocktails and an order of the cheesy cauliflower sticks -- delicious! The happy hour prices certainly made me happy, and the charming waiter checked back in at sensible intervals and remained good humored and attentive even when it must have become obvious that we were not going to be ordering more. I noticed that the menu includes some attractive vegetarian/vegan options and will bear Carve in mind for family celebration meals where there are carnivores as well as vegetarians to feed. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that they failed to include the tip I thought I'd added to the credit card slip and I realized when I checked my account that I hadn't left a tip at all -- apologies if that was my fault!!

I wanted to take my wife to someplace nice to eat for Thanksgiving. I chose Carve, thinking at $49 a person, it would be a nice Thanksgiving spread. Turned out it was for a plate of food which there was not a lot at that price. What a joke!! My wife's said it was super Salty. I got there and changed my mind and ordered the rack of ribs and a side of French fries and mushrooms. The ribs were totally burnt and tasted like I was biting into a piece of burnt wood. It's totally disgusting.
The bbq sauce tasted like tandoori mixed with ketchup. The French fries were coated in this seasoning, which made them taste super gross. What's wrong with french fries just being French fries?! Mushrooms were good and a really tasty sauce. At least one good thing. My wife's turkey plate was laughable. Small serving for $49. The ice tea and coke drinks were good! The server was fantastic ? and the restaurant ambiance was nice except when a table full of kids came and sat next to us, and we had to move tables. The hostess was awesome, and check-in is easy. Sad to say, I won't be back. It was the food being so nasty and overpriced that ruined the whole experience. I don't mind paying top dollar for going out, but not for this place. I can make better ribs and a turkey meal for half the price. I'll be doing that next year. I guess I had to try this to realize nothing better than staying home, making a better plate of food than this gross restaurant. My total bill was $184.22.

A few years back I took my staff for Christmas to Carve and very pleased with the food and the exceptional service by Kara. After that I went there with my family, friends and staff multiple times. Always loved the food and enjoyed the atmosphere. Today I went back with my staff for lunch and everyone was happy with the food and service by Daniel. Amazing food and staff. I recommend Carve to anyone for any occasion.

Vegetarian options: Cauliflower cheese sticks and chile relino are my favorites along with flamed lemon bar and cherry pie.

Came here for a company dinner. Food portions were huge! I had the baby back ribs and it was delicious. I would recommend this dish and also the salmon. Service was prompt and welcoming. Overall, I would recommend this place.

Had a lovely dinner celebrating our 1st year anniversary. We wanted to thank Nick for being great at his job and making our night very enjoyable. The food was great, service excellent, and the atmosphere was great. The oysters, steaks, and desserts are amazing!

The burger patty, all I ordered was great! The manager, Brandon, still charged me for the full meal, i.e. sides and all, plus extra for avocado. No, Brandon, the full cost is not just the meat!

Had a great experience here! The food and drinks were delicious- we really liked the mezcal margarita. Our server, Wyatt, was super attentive, had great recommendations and was a lot of fun. Would definitely go back!

Good vibe and delicious pork chop and whipped potatoes!

Salty and the meat itself was not of the quality I expected. Honestly, I think the meat quality was comparable to major steak house chains, but the price was not. I will not be back as I prefer good quality unadulterated ingredients rather than smoke and mirrors.
