Parking is NOT on 6th St. It's on 5th St behind the building. You need to drive around the block to get to it. The amount of parking in their lot is limited, but parking on the street is limited. Bring a flashlight for visibility. If you are going to a big outdoor event, you may need to bring your own folding chair and in winter bring a heavy coat or blanket because they have no heating on the lot. The audio was good. They have a stage that is reasonably visible.

I love the variety of food options. The portion sizes, the price ranges, and the quality.

My friend and I shared an order of the small nachos and it was just perfect between two people.

Wow! Did not expect to walk into a live wrestling match! Ring, colorful characters, mop guy! Many beers on tap, food, art, stop by! I will definitely be back!

Seems pretty bro-ey, and some nights you get cut in line by overdressed 20 year olds wearing too much makeup so they can order diet cokes. Very cool events though!

I’ve been coming here for 5ish years at least once a week but had to stop because after their renovation it felt like I was no longer the desired crowd. There are now tons of kids and concert goers…at a brewery. I used to love coming here after a run, drink a couple beers and split a pizza with friends in a laid back environment but now the beer comes in plastic cups instead of glass, the pizza recipe has changed for the worse (and way more expensive), and they’ve removed over half the seating so people can stand and watch absurdly loud music. Also I got one pizza and a beer and got charged $48? Make that make sense. I think they’ve been having issues with people walking from tabs which is a totally normal thing people do all the time but the scale but be too big because they messed up and overcharged. I sound like such a hater but just a warning that this place is not a brewery it’s some sort of weird east Austin caricature for young families who need a night out and tourists.

Central Machine Works keeps proving the same point every time I walk in. You deal with a “Woke Austin Bartender employee” who acts like being helpful is a burden and a bartender who treats customers like interruptions. You expect a place to have some level of hospitality, yet the attitude here is consistent and dismissive. This is the third time I’ve run into the same behavior, which tells you it is not accidental. You come here to enjoy yourself, and instead you end up dealing with people who seem annoyed you even showed up. If nothing changes, there is no reason to keep giving them more chances.

One of Austin staples. CMW never disappoints. Be it a large gig, or a quite weekend day - it’s always welcoming and cheerful. Plenty of indoors / outdoor space, lots of different bars so you never have to wait longer than 2 mins. Super kid friendly. Their pizzas are very decent too.

Great vibes indoor and out. I like when there I live music playing. I wish they would bring back their frozen mango margarita with tamarind and chamoy (it was divine and I mourn its loss each time I go). Solid bar food- especially the pizza.

What a super cool venue for music! Great indoor and outdoor spaces with plenty of seating, great artwork, nicely appointed and inviting spaces, great staff - awesome Pizza!!

Cool spot but can't recommend for kids. Music was deafening (not even live music, just a boring DJ) and kids were suffering hearing damage. Multiple people asked them to turn it down, and despite saying they would, it never got quieter. There's no sound guy and they seemingly have no control of their PA. Also no kids menu for food. If you don't have kids or they're grown you'll probably like it, otherwise I'd avoid.

Fun vibe, friendly staff and great food and drink options.

I’ve worked with the events staff to reserve large parties at CMW the past two years, and they have been absolutely amazing. They are quick to respond to event inquiries and make each event special and smooth. Their reservation portal is super helpful and their staff are so kind. The environment and food at CMW is also top notch. If you’re looking for a place to host large parties (50-100) people that’s affordable, fun, and smooth, CMW is the place :)
