I went to pick up a takeout order and did not leave a tip, since I was simply picking up the food and not dining in. When I arrived, the employee at the front asked me to sign the receipt. After I signed, she sarcastically commented, “Wow, thanks—so kind of you.”
I found this comment extremely rude and unprofessional, especially considering I had already spent over $100 on the order. I always tip when I dine in at a restaurant, but tipping should not be expected or commented on for takeout orders. It is not appropriate for staff to judge or make remarks to customers about tipping choices.
I hope this behavior is addressed, as it creates an uncomfortable experience and reflects poorly on the restaurant’s customer service.

Everyone loves Chuy’s, the food here was great, drinks are always great and of course the creamy jalapeno dip is always on point! This location is great and has a bunch of outdoor seating. Parking around Mueller is ok and there are a ton of parking garages near.

Came in tonight with my boyfriend and we by far had the best Chuy’s experience ever. Kate was kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. She by far exceeded our expectations! She was slammed with tables but as a past restaurant manager and server she know what she is doing. The food is great as always and the chicken thing with the lays crumb coating was phenomenal. If you come to this Chuy’s always ask for Kate!
