We work in a lot of kitchens, and often will see things that make us want to NEVER eat there. We were shocked at how clean things were here at Cipollina to the point where we had to have dinner the next day. Some of the best Italian food in the country, and this is coming from someone who regularly travels to Chicago and New York to visit family. 12/10, pasta is superb and the pizza is phenomenal, plus the staff are friendly, attentive and most importantly, quick to refill your drink!

Food quality is good, the profile wasn't exactly to our liking. But the service tipped the scale to the three star.

Came here for a late Valentine's Dinner. The ambiance is very romantic. There are no tvs. Just restaurant, food, and great conversations. I would only recommend that candles be placed on the tables because it was hard on the eyes when reading. The food and wine were awesome. I would return and recommend it.

The food was amazing as always! Modest wine list but features a few good bottles. I believe our server's shift ended before we were able to settle the bill, so we sat for around 30 minutes waiting for someone to come by and eventually took our check to the host to ask who to pay. Other than that, it was a great meal!

Cipollina is a great neighborhood restaurant. We had reservations at 6:00pm and within 30 minutes the restaurant was full! Delicious pizza, chicken Caesar salad and the roasted brussel sprouts were amazing!! We were celebrating my birthday so I had my favorite, tiramisu, and my husband had cheesecake. Both were delicious!

Went here for a prefix valentines dinner. The meatballs came out cold, so I sent them back and they came back burnt. For my main I ordered steak, and it was inedible, seems like it came from the microwave. Not worth $250

So caveat for this review, this was for a fixed menu on Valentines day. So this was our first time here. It's a nice little restaurant with some nice ambience inside. The service was good and the server was pretty attentive. My wife enjoyed the wine she had. The food was fine I would say over all. Nothing that made us think we really need to come back. We got a little humus amuse bouche. Appetizer was meat balls for me and I think it was a little beat salad for my wife. She thought it was good, nothing amazing. The meat balls for me tasted fine but were a little tough like they had been cooked too long or something. Second course was a salad. I got the Ceaser salad and my wife I think got the mixed greens. We both only got half way through the salads because they were both incredibly salty. Like aside from the salt it tased fine but it was so salty we both had pushed our salads off to the side and couldn't finish them. Main course I got was steak, mashed potatoes and boiled greens. My wife got the rock fish. This was the best of the dishes. My wife really liked the rock fish and potato cake or whatever it came with. My steak was ok. Like it was cooked really well. I think my issues is between the steak, mashed potatoes and boiled greens, none of the flavors really went well together and it was a very much for the best experience eat these separately because the flavors kind of clash if you take a bite of steak and potatoes. The potatoes tasted better than the steak and the boiled greens were just kind of bitter and salty. The steak was cooked well, but whatever the gravy on it was kind of had a dull flavor to it, maybe a bit of red wine or some gravy like texture. I think the steak would have been better without it and just salt and pepper honestly. The sauce wasn't elevating the flavor in this case. For a $200 meal, not really worth it. The food all needs work. We probably won't come back any time soon. It doesn't warrant the price.

I will start by saying that I have been looking forward to visiting Cipollina for a while. I made a reservation for my dad's 63rd birthday, excited to surprise him and finally try it. The food was great - we had the arugula salad, white bean dip, and I ordered the redfish which was all delicious. However, the service was a miss. Our server seemed like he was rushing us from the moment we sat down. He immediately rushed us into a wine order then came back only 5 or so mins later to take our food order. It seemed like he was trying to clear plates before we even finished eating. I had noted that it was my dad's birthday when we arrived and on our reservation but there was no mention of that. I am all for quick and efficient service but this really felt like we were being hurried. That said, good food and nice place.

Had been to Cippolina before but this recent visit was outstanding. Excellent chopped salad - fresh, crisp and not overly dressed. We had the tagliatelle alfredo with crimini mushrooms that was not too heavy. The mushrooms were beautifully seasoned & earthy. But the star of the show was the gnocchi that were served in this lovely and light broth with roasted cherry tomatoes, spinach and a sprinkle of chevre which was unique and perfectly balanced. Will be back for sure to this neighborhood gem!

Lovely hidden gem!We came in for a quick dinner and the food was delicious. The tagliatelle alfredo was particularly wonderful and not too heavy for an alfredo. Their margherita pizza was fresh and delicious, with the only complaint being the char at the bottom of the pizza was a bit too much. For the quality of the food, it is really value for money. Service also excellent - they are very attentive and wonderfully considerate. Even the Owner/Restaurant Manager was very kind and helpful.A rare combination of excellent service and delicious food. A must try!

The food was excellent as always but our server was disappointing. He forgot to get our drinks after bringing us water and taking our drink orders, we finally flagged down another server who brought them to us. After receiving our food he didn't check to ensure everything was satisfactory, we had to ask for the check, etc. other servers pitched in and they were great but our assigned server was not great at all. Ambience was great, they comp-ed our dessert as it was my friend's birthday, I didn't want to complain as this was the first time we've experienced less than stellar service and everyone else pitched in to make sure we were taken care of, would recommend, always a treat!
