Lovely spot and this review is for one specific thing.

When you order a drink and it's listed as $10 at the rooftop bar they add tax and a 20 percent tip without telling you.

Then if you also tip cash because you didn't notice they say nothing and keep the tip.

Is this even legal?

When I asked about it first the server said it was tax, then said it was tip, then said it was tip plus tax.

Has happened to a friend as well.

Ask if this was actual club policy and server was super noncommital.

Super shady practice especially if it's not disclosed and then the server accepts your additional tip with no mention of the 20 percent already added.

Dang shame as, otherwise it's a nice spot.

Coco Club, Coconut Club, neon grotto, The grotto, all these are effectively the same place. The two clubs have different entrances, but you can traverse between the two. They also both have rooftop DJs and dance parties. Coconut clubs is much bigger, but that doesn't necessarily make it better as sometimes there's so many people it's hard to move around up there.

They have a Latin night,

There are four different kind of stage areas with DJs between the two venues And like four different bar areas. There's several kind of lounge chill zones, especially the middle floor of neon grotto. From there you can see down on the first floor and there's nice big art up top. Primarily something like a pegacorn? Or maybe it's a Pegasus. Suspended in the air there.

The drink prices are a little high.

They stop serving alcohol at 2:00 but they sometimes close at 3:00 or 4:00. So you can stay there and dance., although I think swaths of people leave before 2:00 a.m.

Coconut Club is a great spot when you’re in the mood for tropical vibes and a fun, high-energy crowd. The upstairs dance floor and standing area have an indoor-outdoor layout that’s perfect on a nice night—open air, good music, and just the right amount of breeze.

The bars are positioned around the perimeter, which makes it easy to grab a drink without missing the action. It can get a bit crowded at times, especially if you’re trying to make your way to the bathroom, but that’s part of the lively atmosphere.

Coconut on the weekends is always a great night for photos! Great staff, great music, great DJ’s! FYI, Usually a cover and sometimes a line, so be prepared to pay a small door fee!

Does anyone know if they finally improved their margarita recipe? I am too old for sweet and sour mix from a plastic bottle.

Picked this place on a whim for my evening in Austin and I had a blast. Everybody (staff and patrons) was super nice. Nobody misgendered me or otherwise acted unfriendly despite the fact that I am the polar opposite of passing. Would def come back.

Went on 11/2. Watched the bouncer let multiple people in for free, but tried charging us a cover fee. (There was only 1.5 hours until closing too) He was so rude about it. This is our favorite place, but picking and choosing who has to pay to enter is messed up, and there’s absolutely no reason to be rude to us. Because Mr. Manbun bouncer behaved the way that he did, we took our business to another bar.
