The food is presented well, the ambience is great, and the service is good too. Food quality for the price is not that good. You mostly pay for the ambience and the hype.
Food was extremely good however leaving with a $90 bill having shared the chicken with two beers, including the tip is a bit expensive.
Great food (ordered bone marrow tacos and berkshire pork chop) and a wonderful espresso martini! It got a little noisy towards the end due to private dining party but our dessert got comped (tamal chocolate) and staff were super apologetic which is much appreciated. Wonderful service overall and I will be back!
This restaurant delivers in every way.... delicious food, amazing hospitality and modern architecture. It rose above my high expectations in every way.
Amazing!!!! We came in after the ballet and we unknowingly stayed past closing talking. The staff was kind and didn't interrupt us, we realized the time and apologized and thanked them dearly. The lamb barbacoa and crudo were out of this world! Highly recommend! They are tucked away behind a parking garage, we walked passed it twice but man was it worth the search! Definitely check them out a literal hidden gem!
Atmosphere is very cool, service is good, food is way too heavy on masa and otherwise flavorless. We absolutely could not wait to leave
Unique menu with amazing cocktails. The Bone Marrow tacos were our favorite - very delicious
Great vibe and setup. The food was ok, but not memorable. Got a much testier food in other restaurants in Austin
I was surprised with dinner here last night for our anniversary, it was both of ours first time and overall we enjoyed the evening and found the fish tacos and half chicken to be full of flavor and balanced very well, however, there were a couple of things that caught us off guard for the caliber of restaurant it is. Our thoughts on two of the dishes: We felt as though the cobia crudo dish was overpowered with lime and took away from the other flavors that were mentioned in the description. We also felt the tamal de chocolate was underwhelming. The scoop of ice cream that came with it held the best flavor on the dish. The actual tamal just tasted like a ball of black masa and the chocolate inside was not melted (assuming it was suppose to be) and neither of us were a fan of the black garnish at the bottom of the dish, it was all really gritty, including the masa (also I cant confirm this for sure bc i didnt get the receipt but i think they charged for the dessert despite it being a celebration, but they did have a cute card for us when we arrived). The last and most frustrating thing about last night was the lack of consideration when it came to the direct atmosphere of where we were seated and who was seated next to us. As mentioned before it was our anniversary and we were seated within a cluster of other tables, which, obviously was our servers section and across the room it was also very obvious that was another servers section and the rest of the dining room (nearly half of the restaurant) was empty. That wasnt necessarily a big deal, the real issue was shortly after we were seated they sat a small group of ladies right next to us who gossiped all night with no care if we could hear them or not, which we definitely could and more than ourselves. We both found it very distracting and recognize it was just an unfortunate mis of recognition of the different dynamics of each table. We still enjoyed everything overall and may try again sometime in the future.
Bluetooth speaker kept going in and out during all of dinner. Very annoying, food compared to last several times has gone downhill.

Comedor, one of the best dining experiences in Austin for intimate and private dinings. From the moment you walk in, the space feels superb — sleek, warm, and unmistakably Austin with that gorgeous living wall and open kitchen energy.
The menu: Every dish I savored felt thoughtful and bold at the same time. The bone-marrow tacos are legendary for a reason (rich, smoky, and perfectly balanced with the salsa macha), but don’t sleep on the Berkshire pork chop that literally melts in your mouth. The crudo was incredibly fresh and so well balanced, but with a kick of hot 🔥 to it.
Cocktails are creative (and delicious) — the Repo Ginger and the Oaxaca Marg are worth the visit alone. Service is attentive without being overbearing, and the staff clearly loves what they do; our server gave us perfect recommendations and made the whole night feel effortless.
One tiny nitpick: the lighting is pretty dim (very moody and romantic), so have your phone flashlight ready if you actually want to read the menu or admire the plating in detail. It’s a small trade-off for the vibe they’re going for

The team at comedor went above and beyond to make my birthday dinner so special. It was an awesome meal and beginning to our night.
We went there to celebrate our anniversary and the team at Comedor made it extra special by giving us a card signed by all the staff. Was so touching!
Dining at Comedor is such an amazing and unique experience! I loved everything… their food, their drinks and their incredible hospitality! By the way, they have some of the best crudo I’ve eaten in Austin

Updating my review - went last night with the family - wonderful food / excellent cocktails. Olson Kundig modern design is really unique. Felt like NYC in Austin. Great food/drinks, ambiance, and crowd. Highly recommend - this place needs a Michelin star or two.
