This is a special place. The drinks are made with care and the folks are so sweet! I love the Ube syrup and the sandwiches! I the smoothie bowls… incredible. I love community garden!

Also the coffee program is locked in!

Staff were dismissive and took forever to bring me my overpriced smoothie bowl. Coffee was burnt and bad. Music was lame and too loud.

Huge bummer! Rude servers, over-priced food that is nothing special and I didn’t enjoy the vibes. Won’t be coming back! This neighborhood could use a good coffee shop so this is very disappointing

Staff are lovely, lots of great music and activities always happening, solid N/A selection. Great way to spend an afternoon.

Is this a wine bar or not???? I don't see wine lists or prices anywhere on this Google page nor their website.

The TikTok hype promised a hidden gem. The reality was a $9 peanut butter sandwich held hostage for twenty-five minutes.

To be fair, it was a good sandwich-elevated with honey, banana, coconut flakes, and a pinch of cinnamon. But watching three staff members drift around an empty kitchen while we waited was painful. If this were Tokyo, a twenty-five-minute wait for a simple snack would be a professional disgrace. Here, it's just the new Austin standard.

My friend from California pointed out the irony: we are paying West Coast prices, but getting service that moves in slow motion. The atmosphere is nice, but I can't justify the wait. Go for the vibes, but eat before you get there.

I had the most incredible matcha at Community Garden, where the drinks are amazing, the vibes are immaculate and the people are friendly (shout out to Tai and James!)

I actually love Community Garden! Very solid coffee and it has a real dedication to putting on a variety of events throughout the week. I particularly enjoy their DJ and listening session nights. Plus they have a doodling night that I have been dying to go to. Plus the space is so gorgeous that it makes me want to hang there

They manage to make very solid acai bowls alongside solid snacking foods, which I just find very impressive.

And while I would love to study there at night with a laptop, it's been a nice experience to try and unplug instead. Give it a shot!

I will be completely honest— I was originally extremely skeptical of this place. I’ve noticed a trend in Austin recently where private, for-profit ventures have been co-opting naming conventions commonly used for public space/community ownership/places for people to gather that don’t require spending money (like community garden, assembly hall, public goods, etc). But I really think they’re doing the best they can to foster a sense of community. They do a lot of programming that is free and accessible, like doodling nights. The space, both indoor and outdoor, is really beautiful. I sometimes come on the weekends to read in the morning and there are always at least 3 or 4 other people doing the same thing. The no laptop policy after 5 is awesome in my opinion. In the past few years, Austin coffee shops have become a cacophony of people taking work calls which is infuriating, inconsiderate, and distracting. It’s amazing that this place offers a respite from devices. And I haven’t tried the evening menu but am excited to!

To the person who complained about parking— unless you want community garden to tear down another local business and build a parking lot, the best option is probably for people to park using the ample street parking (which is public). I live in a neighborhood next to a bunch medical offices and people are constantly parking in front of my house, but the reality is that I am not any more entitled to that public space than someone else just because it’s in front of my house. Austin is growing and ideas/the culture around entitlement to parking spaces need to change
