Best vegan comfort food in town, by a mile. The combinations of flavors and textures are always on point. I especially love the #1 Bowl with seitan. The ambience on Tweedy’s patio is chill and I enjoy getting a cupcake at Zucchini Kill for dessert. Chef’s kiss, perfect.

The mac and cheese is the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. It is packed with flavor and somehow is healthier for you at the same time! Their Mac and cheese bowls come with protein and a veggie, and it’s honestly enough for 2 meals.Vegetarian options: 100% vegan

I ordered one of the tempeh bowls with a chimichurri sauce. Overall the meal was pretty good. Something about the chimichurri seemed a little off... It's very vinegary... Couldn't really taste any garlic, spice, or salt coming through. The portion is just enough. If there were one teaspoon less of rice I might have starved though lol. The tempeh was really the star of the show very flavorful and nice satisfying texture.Vegetarian options: Food is all 100% vegan.

Updated review:I tried the new counter culture food truck and the chipotle lentil nachos are my FAVE! I’m sad I missed the vegan cheesecake they had for a limited time the other week, but that just means I’ll have to go again! If you’re wanting dessert after Zucchini Kill is right next door too!!

counter culture is so special to me, i am so happy to see them back! my partner and i would go every saturday morning share a cup of coffee with biscuits + gravy w a side of tempeh. we were sad to see our little routine gone— we went the last day counter culture was open on the east side and cherished every moment of it. not only is the food amazing, but the employees / owner definitely make this place great. ❤️

I loved the old counter culture and their menu when it was on Cesar Chavez and ate there often. I recently visited the new food trailer and the food was still delish (I ordered the BBQ burrito). However, it would have been better with salsa or queso served on the side with the chips as there was nothing to dip them in.

A locally owned and deliciously healthy gem!The rich and vibrant flavors of the bowls at CC are amazing and go against all the stereotypes of vegan food. I wish the sauces could be bought by the bottle! The #1 and #2 bowls are amazing and a must try.The wait for food was not long, especially considering it was Friday night, and it is quite affordable for the quality and quantity. I am excited to return and try more menu items. Bonus, you can get vegan sweet treats at Zucchini Kills next door and good drinks from Tweedy’s. All around a nice spot for a casual meal and great vibes.

100% best vegan in Austin. Put this on your “GO-TO” list. Also do yourself a favor and get some ‘Zucchini-Kill’ desserts next door.

OMG i was so sad this location closed, but I LOVED this. my friend was visiting from Seattle and so we looked specifically for a vegan spot and this place was so legit. I wanted to go back but will have to check the other location. I think we got nachos and tostadas and mac n cheese. It was so flavorful and it felt like I was eating meat! i will definitely have to go back to this place and check it out again and literally try everything on my menu!

Awesome tostadas! Great service. Happy atmosphere. With such an amazing menu, it was tough to choose. I went with the cauliflower walnut chorizo tostadas. They were wonderful. As was the Spirit Animal sour pale ale made at the brewery across the street.

Oh how I missed this place! The food is outstanding! It's a great dinner spot for both non-meat eaters and meat eaters alike. The food is so flavorful, I don't know how you'd miss any animal products. This time I tried the Philly cheezesteak was seitan and it was hard not to inhale it. That cheeze sauce was plate-licking good! Since I know this place doesn't have many days left (WHICH IS A TRAGEDY!) I decided to indulge and order the tiramisu cashew cheezecake. This I inhaled, to the point where I realized I ate too much....but it was so worth it! Pleeeease check this place out while they are still open!

They're going out of business. Shame. Food was good, the fact that they were so blunt about their beliefs was not

I really do want to like this place but all the food I get here is extremely underwhelming. This will probably be my last time. I ordered the thanksgiving sandwich and it was just so dry and flavorless. The only saving grace was the gravy which is fantastic. But besides that the bread was dry and added nothing, there was way to much mashed potatoes and the tempeh also did not add much flavor. It was just a textures mush in your mouth.

Places like this are so needed and I hope they are around forever! Flavorful food, plenty to choose from, fantastic community.

Been here before a while ago and remembered it being okay. Got it again today to see if my opinion changed and probably won't go back. The food tastes okay, pretty dry, nothing special. But what really got to me was the portion. I got the sub sandwich and it was tiny. Each half wasn't any bigger than my hand (and I don't have big hands). If there was a lot of "meat" in it, I might have not been so disappointed but there was barely any substance instead. I would definitely Recommend rebel cheese if you are wanting a decent sandwich. Same price and much more satisfying.
