We came to Curra's from a family recommendation during our San Antonio-Austin trip. It was the Monday after Grand Prix weekend, so every BBQ place in Austin had a crazy long wait.
At Curra's, which is close to the trendy South Congress neighborhood, we were seated immediately for lunch. Our server was fast and friendly, and she made good suggestions to us as first-timers.
We ordered the patos en mole tacos and the cochinita pibil. They were so flavorful and wow, were they spicy. As Californians who eat a lot of Mexican food, we were not prepared for the hear. But it was super delicious.
The spice might be a bit much for some folks, but we enjoyed it. Rice/bean/plantains definitely help.
All in all, a super flavorful meal!

Came here for the margaritas flight and was not disappointed, all four were killer. They were strong, unique, and highly flavorful, don't dare sleep on the avocado margarita. The restaurant itself was quite loud and this single flight was $60+, so be prepped to spend a lot.

My partner and I stumbled upon Curra's while looking for a restaurant to host our small wedding reception lunch, and we couldn't be happier that we found them! Daylon helped us pull everything together in a short time frame, decorated the space, and had everything set up perfectly before we arrived. The decorations and atmosphere were so cute, and the whole space felt so welcoming and thoughtfully prepared. The food and drinks were delicious, and the service was wonderful. Our guests were all so impressed, and we've been coming back ever since! Highly recommend this gem of a spot!!
OMG food is FRESH! Loved the HH queso w/ fresh guac. We got the HH frozen and on the rocks margs. (Not acidic or super sweet) which I prefer. The tortillas are fresh. Loved the fideo, charro beans and salsa. Ordered the burrito. Everything in it tasted so fresh. And service was nice and prompt
