The best fried shrimp we've found in Austin. A surprise, we wouldn't expect to find pot roast that is outstanding in a Louisiana restaurant. Always like the gumbo too..

Heard great things about this place was excited to try it out, had a great day with my brother and sister-in-law and decided to go have some drinks and eat some good food, waitress came to take our order, we were laughing and having a good time she assumed that we have been drinking and immediately told her manager she didn’t feel comfortable serving us liquor or drinks, even though we had had nothing to drink all day. These were gonna be our first drinks and appetizers had already came, we asked for the manager who felt like we had been drinking also and backed up the waitress, so we left disappointed the way the manager handled it ,very poorly, assuming that we have been drinking all day just because we’re laughing and having a good time, if the waitress didn’t feel comfortable serving us he should have got us a new waitress for us, but he didn’t handle it well at all, he said my face was red and that I was laughing so that to him was a sign for all of us not to get any drinks

I love Cajun food. I have been to various authentic Cajun restaurants and have developed a well rounded understanding of how different classic and authentic dishes should taste like. From the simplicity of red beans and rice all the way to freshly baked warm beignets, you name it I’ve tried it. All that to say, I was disappointed with Cypress Grill for its lack of authentic flavors that a true cajun restaurant should have. I was also very displeased with the lack of variety it had on the menu, just because 1/3 of the menu has different variations of crawfish tails does not mean you can call yourself a Cajun restaurant. Anyone can season and fry crawfish and boil pasta and have it taste “good” but that doesn’t make it true Cajun cuisine. I could go on…. But I digress.

Also, our service was subpar to say the least. Our server was very unwelcoming and clear and dry with her responses. I’m not the king of England but is it too much to ask for some common courtesy and customer service nowadays?

Rest assured, I do have one good thing to say from my experience - the tunes playing in the background were very nice.

As always I hope this review helps you with deciding on where to have your next meal.

Stay safe and have a blessed day.

Okay, Louisiana-style? No cornbread, no corn pones. Kind of bare minimum Louisiana. It was okay. That's the best I can do.

PART 2 Seems like you have a sense of humor, John. But you have an acceptance issue also. One person in our party did have the gumbo and didn't think it was very good. I did like the fried catfish. I did have another problem. With hundreds of breweries and thousands of brew selections, you had one locally sourced.

Quick friendly service, the jambalaya and the Cajun hash was outstanding. Wish we had tried this place sooner.

This is a great little place. It was my first time here. The food was great, the waitress provided excellent service, and it's just the right size for dining. If you like Cajun food, you must stop by and get a bite to eat

The food quality was excellent, interesting menu choices (so many restaurants have the same options), drinks were very good, outdoor seating was very comfortable and well done, staff were ALL friendly and personable (we interacted with 6 different team members) and the prices are very reasonable. We will be coming back often!

Cypress Grill is consistently great. The food is always fresh and delicious and the service is solid. I find myself often ordering the Crawfish Rellano and fried okra. Everything else I have ever had is also very good. Highly recommend!

Kid-friendliness: Kid menu with good options at a fair price.
