Wow, the food here is really good. I enjoyed my chicken sandwich here, and their fries are 1 of the best I've ever had. It's definitely worth trying if you have not already, and it worth going back again and again.
Parking: Side parking and just park where you see an opening.
Wheelchair accessibility: Gravel road so it will be difficult for wheelchair to roll around.

Fantastic hot chicken, great spice level and very fresh chicken. Location has MOVED to celis brewery (near the domain) to the east side dirt parking lot. The owner is super friendly and a great person. Highly recommend.

Nut allergy friendly: I didn't ask but everything I had was good.
Dang Hot 89 is a little gem of a food truck in a park of other food trucks that, if you sit and watch closely, always has people walking up to it. If you try it, you'll understand why. It is definitely a candidate for the best Nashville hot chicken in Austin.
I had the Hot version of the chicken sandwich, which I didn't find to be that spicy despite it being the second from the top tier. I really appreciated that it came with fries, though you do have to order sauce separately. For the value, you get a nice serving of crispy fries and an absolutely massive sandwich. It's a real bang for your buck since the chicken is also crispy, juicy, and flavorful. The little touch of pickle and cole slaw is enough that the bread stays intact and doesn't interfere with the spices of the hot chicken. Other chicken sandwiches get soggy and messy, but this one somehow keeps it together. Overall, solid at a great price point.
As this truck is a one-man show, ordering near closing time or during peak lunch hours may lead to wait times of up to an hour. Order early!

Dang Hot 89 food truck is an absolute find! Their Fried Chicken is always fresh, super crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. I also tried their cheese fries; they’re a perfect match with their homemade sauce. Order online while you’re on the way so the food ready for pick up by the time you get there.

Dang Hot never disappoints! Their 3 tender meal portion is just right for one person, with possibly some leftovers. The tenders are impressively large! When I first visited, I tried the highest spice level. Though I love really spicy food, it was a bit too much for me, but they do give you a fair warning before you order. Now, I find that medium or hot provides the perfect balance of flavor and heat. The owner is incredibly kind and genuinely cares about his customers. I've been there four times in the last month, and it has never let me down. It's probably the best Nashville Hot fried chicken in Austin.

Overall, this was a good experience. My sandwich was juicy and very filling. The cost of one sandwich is $12.50 and it comes with fries. This is a Grown Man's meal, it's enough to fill you up or eat half and save the rest for later. In other words, you definitely get your money's worth in portions as well as flavor.
Parking: At the time I went, (which was the lunch hour), parking was not an issue. There were plenty of available free spots.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's a food truck park that is bumpy but accessible.

Dang good chicken. Got the tendies and they were juicy with the right amount of spice. It was about a 30 minute wait with several orders ahead so recommend ordering pickup ahead of time, that's just how dang good this place is.

This is some of the best dang fried chicken in town! Everything is made super fresh, and while that can sometimes result in longer waits, it's entirely worth it (plus the little park is a nice area to hang out in.) The owner is also clearly passionate about his food, and it's friendly on top of being a great chef. I can't recommend this place enough - just consider calling in your order if you're short on time.

This is by far the best hot fried chicken in Austin and I've tried them all. It's a one man show so don't expect food to come out fast. Go during non lunch hours.
