2 stars because I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. It seems like their Korean food must be better but I've yet to try. If you come here for Chinese food turn around and drive the extra couple of miles for panda Express because even if its a chain it's hell of a lot better than this. The general tso's chicken was probably made up of 75% batter and it wasn't even fried freshly. On top of being soggy slop the sauce is definitely premade and the chef needs to take another hit at that recipe cause it ain't it fam. The fried rice has very faint flavor for someone expecting a dollar surcharge if you prefer that over white. The white rice is also over cooked. But the staff however is extremely friendly and perhaps the Korean food is what people come for.
I ate here yesterday and was so disappointed. Jajang noodle was sweet, instead of savory. I thought it tasted OK but not good. Then, there was the shrimp fried rice. It was literally just rice sauted with a few tiny shrimps thrown in. No veggies, not even green onion. And they charge $12. Too expensive for what I got.Korean style Chinese food is my fav! I grew up eating it. I wish Daon was better.
the owners are so sweet and they make the best soup in the world!
Mediocre at best
Soooo good. I come here all the time for the best Korean-Chinese dishes! And the owner is super nice too ?My all-time favorite is the black noodles and fried pork combination and jjampong. But any of their dish is good!
Expensive and small portions that taste just okay.
(Translated by Google) The taste of sweet and sour pork, the long-established jajangmyeon in Korea.. The taste and quantity are the best!!! i love daon(Original)한국에서 먹던 그리운 자장면 탕수육 맛.. 맛도 양도 최고!!! i love daon
This restaurant is fantastic. The menus are various and very delicious.I go here every week and enjoy Chinese food.I think it's the best place to eat Chinese food in Austin.
Really great spot for Korean style Chinese food located inside H-Mart. You can have a bowl of jajangmyeon and then grab some unique groceries and snacks on your way out. The noodle quality in the jajangmyeon was excellent--some of the best noodles I've had in a long time. The tangsuyuk was also very crispy and delicious.
I used to love this restaurant. It was the best place to get the kind of Chinese food you get in Korea. Arguably it still is the best jajangmyun in the area. The reason for the negative review is we ordered the jajang shrimp bokumbap. It usually comes on a plate thats half jajang sauce and half fried rice. The dish is $12. Today it was a full plate of fried rice with a small cup (likely 1/2 cup measured) of jjang sauce. It was not enough to go around. We tried to make it work but about half way through we went to ask for more. We did not ask for a hand out, we asked how much it would cost to make the rice more moist explaining that the rice was just too dry to eat alone. The front cashier was great and very polite. She came back from the owner who said that to fill a spoonful into the cup would be $7. Recall the entire dish was $12 to begin with. We asked to speak to the manager but she would not come out and made the poor lady up front re iterate that it was $7. Zero concern for the poorly considered proportions or our satisfaction with the dish. We will likely go back for jajangmyun but it was still disappointing to see an obvious cost cutting measure. We get it covid. But have some sort of concern for your customers satisfaction and rethink the ridiculous strategy of charging $7 to complete a dish you used to sell.

I love this place! Store is located inside of Hmart. Staff is pleasant and friendly. I had jajangmyeon and kkansho shrimp and it was great! I will definitely come again.
This place is amazing. I ordered a couple of obscure dishes rather than my normal tso chicken and I dont think I can go back to my normal americanized Chinese food. Definitely worth a visit
Tangsuyuk was great. And my favorate Samsunjjambbong is #1. Thank you Daon
