the bartender was a complete a-hole who denied me service when all I asked for was water. there was no sign stating nobody under 21 could enter the building. he could have respectfully told us but instead had the worst attitude as if we had asked for alcohol.

We were visiting Austin for a concert and found this little gem. The staff treated us like family, and the locals were as friendly as you could hope for. We visited Dive Bar 3 out of the 5 days we were in Austin. They don't serve food, but Belle and Bella will encourage you to order it in! Wonderful experience and an easy recommendation!

This is an outstanding bar and restaurant that everyone should visit when they are in Austin. My wife booked it as a last minute dinner after SXSW and we were amazed by the both food and the service.The ceviche was one of the best we have ever tasted, and the Chicken Entree was excellent. The mocktails were brilliant - we both had one based on Lyre's London Spirit, which tasted like real gin, but better.Best of all, our waiter, Jordan, was the perfect host and delivered just the right dose of Southern hospitality to make this a very memorable evening. Highly recommended!

We had a great date night dinner here with some friends. The service is incredible, the cocktails superb, and the ambiance is approachable and comfortable, yet on trend. Our favorite food items were the deviled eggs, oysters, fried ugali, and the pork schnitzel. But honestly, we tried much more and it was all great. We will definitely be back soon. Thanks Dive Bar!

We last minute had to change the location for my husband's birthday, showed up with over 20 people, and the bartenders didn't skip a beat! All the cocktails on their menu were delicious and they could make whatever we ordered off the cuff as well. I would say it is "dive bar chic," meaning it's clean and cute inside while still being a dive. I can definitely see this being a regular hang out.
I keep coming back here for Birdy, James, Belle and the rest of the gang! They make me feel welcome and appreciated. Love it here!

Sponge-bob and Patrick, Mario and Luigi! they literally know your order before you can even ask for your drink. They greet you when you walk in, they make you feel like you're a regular, and they make a mean Old Fashioned. STOP looking for a bar to go out to, you found it, this is the place.
