This place is our go-to. Order the steak fajitas, they are the best we’ve had 👌🏻

Food is great. Service is not so great. Always understaffed and stressed out. Their kids sleeping in the back room. No music. Weird environment. Not a place we go to when we want to have a fun time. I think I mostly go for the salsa. :/

Tried out this place while in the area, just popped in to check it out. Great experience. Service was good and fast. Waitress brought extra salsa and multiple drink refills. Food was really tasty.

Wow, I bought morning tamales to go with my family and half of them were cold and the others were burned on one side and dry. The only thing legendary about this place is the fact that they microwave old tamales and charge people for them. Never coming here, can only imagine the food :/

We had a nice experience having dinner at this restaurant. We ordered the fajita plate with all sides and it was very good. The beat was soft, tender and very tasty. It seems that fajitas are the specialty because everyone at our table order those the menu extensive and buried so I’m sure there is, more delicious plates to try.
The restaurant is nicely decorated, and it has accents that make you feel as if you’re in a little town in Mexico.
The service was friendly, and courteous. Our food was served promptly and very warm. The sizzling sizzling griddle is very appropriate to serve you the freshest food possible. Most definitely will come back to try other plates from the menu.

Has seen better days. Absent service at first. Food was not as menu listed (I double checked the menu online afterwards) and what was offered wasn't really that edible. I picked the spoiled cilantro off the rice and it left a black residue. They asked if pico was okay, I said yes, and then they didn't bother adding it to the plate. Someone poured grocery store BBQ sauce like I had ordered BBQ chicken. I took a taste of my partner's guac to get the flavor out of my mouth and I didn't know guacamole could be mealy? The best thing in my order was the straight-out-of-a-can beans and the sliced tomatoes on the salad they substituted without checking and didn't bother dressing. The chips and salsa were good at the beginning once someone actually came to take our drink order. Atmosphere-wise, the restaurant is cute, but two different people made phone calls and their conversations carried through the empty restaurant. The whole experience was bad enough I asked my partner if we had ever tipped badly or something because it was a lot. I think I'm going to give it a year or so before retrying, this is the second time we've gone and had a poor experience.

This was our go-to place to get carne gasada, but I don't think we'll ever return.. Son came in from our of town with guest and he likes their carne guisada so we went to DK.. The carne gasada wasn't the greatest- to say the least.. The portions were larger than usual but lacked flavor. The ice tea tasted old, and the flautas we ordered were burnt. We asked for a refill of the chips and salsa and finally came after 3 requests.. Since we didn't like the tea, we requested water and it came when we were finishing our meal. They were not busy and had 2 servers, but their kids were there laying in booths in the back, which took their attention away from the customers. Also, there were no paper towels in ladies restroom and it was only 5 pm, so before the dinner rush. We will not go back. I was disappointed that we wasted a night out and took out of town guests.

Seriously, if you live in Austin you should visit and if not, come on by before you leave. DK Maria's is a community staple. Their tortilla chips are thick and crunchy and their salsa divine. Get the queso too, you'll regret not having both dipping sauces. I could talk about their tacos and enchiladas which are fantastic but this time I ordered the Chimichanga. It was superb; perfectly crunchy on the outside, savory and delicious on the inside and glazed with a gooey queso, served with two sides of rice. Emaculate.

This is a very nice place. Food is good so are the people. It may be a little out dated for the decor, however the people and food make up for all of that for sure!!

Came here for a private family dinner. Their party room/ area was plenty able to accommodate our group of 30 people. We were served buffet style. We were able to play our own music. We were able to have separate checks for our alcohol tabs. We had a great time.
