I prefer the South 69th Food Truck Park, but that's in a private location that only certain people can access, so let's move on and talk about the one on E6 in Austin instead. I'm not a huge fan of these Food Truck Parks even though they have a great food selection at many of them. This one for example has five or six great items in terms of food selection, but people smoke and vape in and around this gravelly park, and you will often smell weed while eating, and then there's the fact that walking to these trucks in high heels like my Barbie likes to do is nearly impossible (she's done it, but it wasn't fun) because of all the fake gravel to get to them. And then there's the fact that every truck seems to be double the price that you would want it to be or expect it to be as a food truck, which have lower overheads but still charge through the roof in Austin. And then there is the fact that more than half of the Austin food trucks are massively overpriced, overrated, and often with fake food. And then worst of all is the fact that you can't even park here. You have to park at incredibly overpriced parking meter spots or you have to park on streets nearby which are quite a way away and then hope that you'll be safe there, from towing and such, with somewhat confusing and conflicting (or completely absent) signs. Still this particular FTP has the Brazilian food truck (Boteco) which is one of the best in town, so we love that element of it, and the picnic tables are nice and very helpful. There are definitely other food truck parks that are more accessible though. And when Barbie gets tired of trying to walk on gravel in those heels, it becomes a foot truck park.
