First time here today and I ordered Pastor Tacos to go. SO delicious and we’re all gone within 5 minutes. Ordering was super fast, extremely friendly and these tacos were SO freaking delicious and the pineapple was a 10/10 ! Highly highly recommend you stopping at this perfect little taco spot with a covered patio ❤️

Had to leave a review to help support this local business 🙌🏻

First-gen Austinite of parents from Mexico City chiming in: this is my favorite taco truck in town. I like Las Trancas, I like Mi Trailita, but this one is my favorite.

Their prices are reasonable, their portions are very generous, and the food is good. I haven’t had everything on the menu, but I’ve had 2/3’s of it and I have yet to get something bad.

Highlights are the pastor, the carnitas, & the breakfast tacos. Their tortas are the best I’ve had in the city, with the bread being perfectly authentic.

Also, their hours are unbeatable. Go there.

I couldn’t rate this place any higher!! I’ve always wanted to shout my love from the roof tops because they deserve it but I also don’t want it to get too much press and overrun by non-locals lol I’ve decided I want them to be successful and around forever so here it goes:
I have gone through extended periods in the last few years of being straight up addicted to these tacos. Like 3 times a week to daily type of thing. I always get the Al Pastor at every taco truck I go to as a good measure of their quality. El Buen Taquero is the gold standard. The grilled pineapple, the best salsas anywhere, both the red and the green-which is rare. The staff is always friendly and I love the little covered patio that they’re always decorating and redecorating. A lot of care goes into this place.
I used to live down the street and have since moved 15 minutes away but this is still my go to taco spot. I got my birthday lunch here yesterday lol
Highly recommend:
The Al Pastor 💕, Longaniza, their sopes with any meat, and surprisingly - their burgers (add pineapple)!

A hidden gem by Mueller - Buen Taquero serves up some of the best Tacos in Austin! These are consistently some of the best tacos around. Prices are very reasonable and the service and food are excellent! In my opinion they are even better than the Famous Rosita’s on Riverside!!

The torta here didn’t quite hit the mark—the beef was dry, and the flavor was pretty lacking, with just a bit of mayo that didn’t do much to help. But the spot itself is charming, with a cozy little seating area kept cool by fans. Because it’s so close to a good coffee place I’d probably go back to try a taco.

Food is honestly super freaking good. I got an asada sope and 2 al pastor tacos and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I showed up 15 min before they closed (I didn't know what time they closed, I'm an a-hole), and they had the food ready in less than 10 min. 2 tacos and a sope were $13, so pretty fair for the amount of food I got.

I try al pastor tacos at pretty much every Mexican food truck. These are the best out there!

Really great food, honestly. Don’t come here if you like fake Tex-Mex, because this is the real deal. Prices are pretty high, though. Portions are very large - a plus. Still, for three adults and two children, $45. I mean, I guess that’s what you’d spend at Chick-fil-a these days, but I just didn’t quite expect a full-price menu in the hoods of Austin. I hope that the owner is passing along these profits to his employees! If so, worth the visit.

This place is a hidden gem. Perfect place to go when craving tacos in the evening. The quesadilla de bistec was amazing. The pastor and barbacoa were also yummy. My only comment would be if you don’t like oil too much, ask them to go light on it (for corn tacos). Otherwise, great taste and good salsas ?️ will be back ?
