I recently moved out of Austin so I came back on a Tuesday.. big mistake cause yall were closed and then I saw ā€œpermanently closedā€ and my heart sunk, like dropped, to my a$$.. then on Friday, I was still in Austin and got a morning craving which like whyyyy soo I decided to call them to see if they were permanently closed and THANK GOD YALL THEY ARE STILL OPEN. It’s been so hard living away from my family for so long and their delicious home-cooked Puerto Rican cuisines and yes I could technically make it on my own but yall know how good a home cooked meal feels.. it hits differently. So this place has been my home away from home when I do crave that home cooked meal from my people. It’s warm, and each bite fills my heart with love and happy memories. It’s the only place in Austin that serves true Puerto Rican food.. that I know of!,
we must protect it at all cost.!!!
I called the store to make sure they were open so I’m on the way!!! Love yall xoxo

Great food when they are open. Honestly I miss Puertorican food. Austin lacks in that area and this place has it. Unfortunately the hours of operation are tricky. There have been multiple times where I drive 20 plus minutes to the truck and it has been closed.

Recommended dishes: Slow Roasted Pork, Mofongo Con Carne, Pernil Arroz Con Gandules Y Yuca

Didn't get try it. Online indicated it was open today which is Sunday but guess wat 19 min later found out it was closed so can't go by online info once again. Sad I was looking forward to it.

I can’t even tell you if the food is good or not. Haven’t been able to try it yet, only open on the weekends. 3rd time I’ve tried coming here and it’s been closed during the time they are suppose to be open. It’s frustrating because it’s a 25 min drive for me to get here. Only reason I’m leaving a one star.

Great Puerto Rican food located in East Austin. It’s a food truck in a little part of town where there are other food trucks present too. There is music and outside tables with shade. I ate the pernil plate that comes with rice and a side (I got Yucca). Also tried the chicken empanada and their plaintains. It’s a great mix of food for the meal and I enjoyed how tender and tasty the pork was. Free street parking available.

GR SQUAD!!

I love my culture’s food and I found this place while visiting Austin excited too try with the wife and ordered chicharon de pollo and was informed it would be a long wait and that the pork was ready instead, I am highly allergic too pork and cannot eat it, well we told her we’d wait and we did but when I got the food back to my hotel room and ate the mofongo which I ordered the chicken one had the chunks of pork in it causing me to have to an allergic reaction

Best Puerto Rican food in Austin — by far. Been rocking with these guys since they were in a bus, tried and true. Love to see the constant come ups and same friendly, kind faces. Delicious food, something for everyone to enjoy.
